We are building a decent squad for the Championship next season. I’m just delighted to be in the PL for one season at least. I can see us being a yo-yo team for the next few seasons. The gulf is enormous as we all know. So I’m just enjoying the ride!
You do seem the only one on there with any realism to the task ahead, there a few that being deluded, doesn't even cover. Yorkie bloke, Europe in 3 years with a good number of your league 1 players for instance.
I’ve been supporting Town for over 50 years so I’m used to being realistic. We are pinching well above our weight and it’s nice after years of under investment and poor management to finally be in the limelight albeit fleetingly. We are a small big club or big small club whichever way you look at it I’ll be happy with being a yo-yo team for the next two or three seasons. The championship looks to be wide open this season and I’m predicting you’ll go up automatically. You’ve got too much quality and the bitter experience of missing out last year will spur you on
Soton and Lesta are in the same boat and this could actually be the year Everton finally slip, the 2 games so far they've been absolutely dire and most of their players came in for a lot of stick last night, even talk of Dyche walking, you've got to be getting maximum points off those 3, then you're in with a chance. You've not bought any PL experience which isn't great, Phillips is finished, so forget him.
So long as win win our mini league we will be alright. I’m not looking forward to the long winless runs though! Maybe I need to see a Doctor
Hopefully Leicester receive a hefty points deduction. The comments by Dyche yesterday suggest Everton are in big trouble. I think you are better than Southampton. You've a decent chance of scraping 35 points which should be enough.
Fulham's massive next week, lose that and then it's Brighton away next, international break with 4 defeats would be a big downer.
Farke under achieved last year, he relied on individual talent rather than team effort and players who could compliment each other. We still have a very good starting 11 and the transfers are finally coming in so we have to be in the mix again. I actually think the replacements might be better than those we’ve sold, time will tell. We had too many players who were capable of a 9/10 one week and then 4/10 the following. We just need a few more constant 7/10 players
We have a good first 11, other than Meslier and 3 good replacements on the bench, but other than that, it's goalies and kids. The hope is we get 4 more in by Friday, if not with suspensions and injuries, it will cost us. A few names floating around, a couple of them quite exciting. Not gonna replace talent wise but the hope is, we get a more balanced team, too reliant on Summerville last season.
We proved last year that if you have a cohesive group of players who are prepared to work hard and never give up it will go a long long way. We have no superstars apart from Leif who will go on to bigger and better things I have no doubt. We will be lucky to hang onto him. Your problem last season was the inconsistency! You played us off the park twice but then struggled against lesser teams. Like I said I believe that your players will have learned from last season and you’ll definitely be there or thereabouts. Top 2 I reckon.
Watching Wolves right now playing the Harlem Globetrotters and O’Neil has got them set up to take it to Chelsea. Wolves playing a high press high energy game and now 2-2 after going behind inside 2 minutes Ipswich need to do the same against the so called big teams. Hope you do well this season, have a lot of time for your manager
I think top 2 would depend on how the 3 that came down perform, Luton have started abysmally, Burnley have signed a few but seem to be losing a lot of their better players too, hard to judge the Blunts just yet, signed a lot of players but none I'm jealous of, hopefully Hamer leaves them, then that would certainly weaken them. Sunderland off to a flyer but very inexperienced squad, Boro were one of the favourites but still looking like they've got the inconsistency issues, Baggies, is anyone's guess
Doesn't look like it, tbh I don't know how they got top 6 last season, they looked poor every time I watched them, they did have a good 30 minutes at home to us but that was about it from what I saw. Happy they got a point yesterday though.
Neither can I. I was responding to Gessa's post #8: So if Bamford does go the the MLS in February, that means that we need a striker.
Thankfully fake news: "Paul O’Keefe has squashed rumours that Manor Solomon has failed his Leeds United medical ahead of his expected loan move from Tottenham. Reporting via his personal X account (25 August) the journalist shared the last he had heard the Israeli winger’s camp had said everything was going to plan with the move." https://motleedsnews.com/transfers/...or-solomon-failed-medical-concerns-addressed/
Well rather than watch the bin dippers I switched on to Nice V Toulouse and watching the best player on the pitch Charlie Cresswell. Cannot get my head around why FARKE binned him. The control tower is having a great game again. My nephew who is down in Nice writing a report for Sir Jim Radcliffe about the state of the pitch (you need to see it ffs) and the head Groundsman has just texted me to say Cresswell is going to be at a top club next season. All this dicking about with Wober ……
