AA doesn't seem to fit in the system we play seems more of a 10 in a 4231 Always seemed shoe horned in our team either out wide or as a false 9 Didnt RLB let him leave lorient as well?
That was a ridicolous challenge considering he was on a yellow and the area of the pitch the opponent was... Could have ended really badly for Sunderland, for once it didn't.
This is the one I’m most excited about. Everything I’ve heard suggests he would be a hugely impressive signing. Good enough to improve us now, and huge upside.
Gonna be really interesting because Phil Smith said the lad has multiple options and the club still really wants Mendy. I really can’t see us getting both
I genuinely believe we are 1 or 2 really good signings away from being genuine automatic promotion contenders (provided we don’t suffer some sort of injury crisis). Not too fussed about Adil seemingly leaving, hasn’t really impressed me much.
I'd be disappointed to see Aouchiche leave but I can see why if he does, the lad has been surpassed by Riggy and doesnt offer enough combatism to play in our current midfield system. You have to ask has he kicked on since arriving? I'd say not. If Ba goes, well I think a move might not be a bad thing for him either. Hes got loads of talent but his pitch intelligence and decision making is so poor. He hasnt kicked on either. It shows you need to grow with this side or you'll be deemed surplus and shipped out. Its gonna be interesting to see who we can attract.
@Prehab26 said Rusyn could leave, and we already know Hemir won’t be involved. Having Simic and Mendy as the out and out number 9s and Isidor and Mayenda who can play across the front would have us looking extremely healthy up top for once.
I more think about the game time aspect, say we get Mendy and Simic in. Simic being 20, Isidor 23, Mayenda 19 are all gonna want game time. Isidor for all he can play on the left his preferred position is upfront. hard to juggle that which is why I’d only want one more personally
If Ba and Aouchiche are going, I think that makes room for both Simic and Mendy. Frontline depth of; Striker: Mendy Simic Mayenda LW: Mundle Isidor RW: Roberts Poveda That feels pretty good and balanced to me.
I would 100% agree but I do think Isidor wants to play upfront. That’s why he said on his interview he is first of all a striker who can play on the wing. I still don’t think he would have came here to not play his preferred position but I could be wrong
From everything i've seen he's a wide forward. Even when he's played as the central striker he drifts wide left, not sure he's the target man that RLB seems to want. Look at the body type of Mayenda, Mendy and Simic compared to Isidor.
