Good luck Clarke son. Small tear in my eye today. He did so well. What a perfect combination. Lad who needed a club and fan base to back him and a player who would try his heart out. Genuinely hope he smashes the prem and hopefully international
Sad to see Jack go, but hope he smashes it. He seems like a good lad and both him and us needed each other at the right time. I've always been quite level headed and positive about this group, but jesus there's some potential in this team. RLB has them in a shape, structure and philosophy that is working a treat atm. Hell of a long way to go, but a strong end to the window (we always play late) and I'm quietly confident.
Think his backup and team mates could play a bit more than current Ipswich squad mind…. .. he was also utterly rapid, Jacky ain’t. Looks like he wrote that farewell himself, which I love: wish the lad all the very best he has been a diamond for us. ****ing Shane we will never get to give him an applause when they pass us on their way down like (partial jokes…)
interesting, I’m watching on the whistle and Phil Smith has said outright we are after two forwards, whether that’s two out and out 9’s or one 9 and one versatile who knows he outright said though, Sunderland still want Mendy, they are still after him and they are hopeful it can be done
He also said Simic was not here the other day for a medical but it was for talks and that the lad has multiple options
He said there is zero offers for Ekwah as of right now and that the udinese offer wasn’t really serious as they haven’t came back in for him
All the best to Clarke but I think we will be more than fine without him. We clearly relied on him far to much at times, and in his absence, we looked clueless. I must say, no disrespect, but I thought he would go somewhere other than Ipswich. I always thought he's end up at Brentford, West Ham, Brighton etc. Anyway, forward we go.
This is exactly the figure I thought we would end up at when it came out we were rejecting 15 and wanted for 20. 18+5 makes perfect sense, and represents a good deal for all parties imo.
I think you may be right to be fair. Clarke was a young lad trying to find his feet after a couple of failed loans. His confidence was low and it showed. I think it was more frustration on the fans part as the team was struggling to beat the league one cloggers. He found his edge once we got promoted and never looked back.
