I honestly think Cirkin can be good enough for England. Not like we have a wealth of left backs at the moment...

Right, my excuse is that I've had a few drinks and this is the first time I've ever thought of trying to write a chant so here goes.

To the tune of Denis, Denis by Blondie

Romaine Romaine, we'll get the ball to you
Romaine Romaine, you'll score a goal or 2
Romaine, Romaine, just show us what you'll do

    Tin hat on! <laugh>

I’ve just walked in the door. It’s 4 hour trip each way for me. Me & 15 year old lad make the trip up 4 or 5 times a year - I love it as it’s proper time together and he’s become as obsessed as me the last few years. And it always feels like coming home, it’s a special place.

I’d taken him to Reading festival yesterday, making it about 1000 miles in 48 hours. He kipped the whole way up as a result, so I just has the radio for company, the UB40 version of I can’t help falling in love dropped on just as I pulled into Sunniside and I knew it was going to be a good day. So glad we made the effort, he didn’t shut up about how class we were the entire way home.

Beyond the performance, the atmosphere was immense, you can really feel improvements made to the stadium, pitch and shop & we feel like the real deal from top to bottom. There’s a proper buzz and RLB has us playing in a way that gets the place on its feet.

Ecstatic for Mundle, couldn’t have written it better. Chris Rigg is going to be another level to anyone I have ever seen play for us.

If we sign right over the next week, we may look back on JC leaving as the best thing to happen to us.

What a start to the season. Exciting squad shaping up and playing good football with a couple of quality incomings looking possible.

Regis is just straight up off Mount Olympus. He has come in and changed attitudes and forged a shambles of a talented squad into a team. Wonderful tonic for last season's mess.

Could not be more excited about the season ahead.

KLD/KS ****ed last season for one reason or another, as has been pointed out. They seem to be getting this season right in a very big way.

The match ko'd at 2am where I am. Git up with my teething toddler at about 1.30, as she had the whole house awake. I'm so pleased she woke me, that performance was immense. Really feels like we are progressing despite the loss of our most celebrated player. Good luck to Clarke, he was desperate to play in the Premier and he us with ipswich now. Can't help but feel he's been short sighted tho. We really seem to have something special occurring.

We have a midfield three of Neil, Rigg and Bellingham. All potential England players in the making. All be UT they are still very young currently. But so many promising players in other positions throughout the squad. If we do add Simic and he's as good as we all hope. We'll be there or there abouts come the season finishing.

I thought the same, but he knew he was on it which made it stupid!
That said, no idea what was happening with the opposition bench as he was coming off (sky sports YouTube highlights)

Best thing that could have happened today, both for the club and the lad himself. Great start to the season and bring on Pompey.

I think Parker or one of his staff said something. Probably out of frustration because they were outclassed.

I was talking to a few burnley lads in the museum before the match and they weren't confident, but we made the favourites to win the league look bang average.

Half way inside Burnley’s half on the touch line. Definitely stupid, rush of blood to the head. At that time in the game we should just be shutting things down. He’s got a lot of games but still young too, he’ll learn. Especially if Browne plays a blinder and he doesn’t get straight back in team.

Part of my job, in another existence, was to be able to spot Class A drug users.

After a while, as we all are with any job, it becomes second nature.

Sadly at away matches in particular, as many on here will know, 'having a sniff' at matches has become all too common.

It's best not to engage with these lads, even if they're Sunderland and appear friendly, they can turn really quickly.

Anyway, on a totally different subject entirely, I see Scott Parker was wearing his poncy £1800 bomber jacket today <whistle>

What a great result and in truth we could have score more.
RLB has us purring along nicely and I believe that we still have big improvements that can be made which is looking good.
I hoped we could get about 20 points from first 10 games if we carried a bit of luck as I thought it would take time to settle into Reggie's philosophy but it seems we have slid into his style effortlessly.
9 points from 3 games wow :1980_boogie_down: almost half way to 20 already.

Really excellent performance yesterday - more impressive than the Sheff Wed game. We look a real team and Mundle was just outstanding.
Burnley were poor, very poor but how much of that was down to us not letting them play? Honestly, had we won 4-0 again they couldn't have complained.

Whole back line looked solid and unflustered, Cirkin outstanding again. Jobe was everywhere and Rigg continues to excel
Roberts looks back to his best and Mayenda is improving with each game.
Only fly in the ointment was Dan Neil's silly challenge which really put us under pressure for those last 8 or 9 mins, but happy days. Top of the league

Wonder if RLB woke up this morning and pinched himself as to how well he's started his time at our club.
Positivity and confidence can take you a long way in football and the club are oozing confidence on all levels and long may it continue.
