One of the good things that caught my eye last night which I haven't seen in a long while, was that when Wednesday started an attack, you could actually see we had a defensive line. Not always, but more organised than for quite a while.
Not if I was one of those 100, given I'd posted my team for last night's game a couple of days ago More so Doc named a different starting 11, and I believe you had Rothwell starting in your selected team. So that's 3 of us who had a go at predicting a starting/preferred 11 and none of us got it 100% correct
Mine also went for 3 at the back and didn't include Wober I did have Gnonto and Brendan in central attacking midfield roles though
Firstly I thought his behaviour last summer was objectionable. However it spoke volumes for me that he split with his agent immediately afterwards, and DF was happy with him to stay. In truth I think he gets a hard “press”, though he doesn’t help or endear himself to anyone with his petulant behaviour. I’ve never doubted his talent, thought last night he was excellent. He hasn’t given me the impression he wants away, thought he did extremely well at West Brom, in a more defensive mindset, his performances haven’t said he’s pushing for a move. He may well be, of course, but whilst he’s here we should support him.
Absolutely this. West Brom game he tightened up and got a good 0-0 away from home after conceding 6. We created very little that game. This game he has retained the defensive pattern (for the most part) whilst bringing Gnonto more central and having Aaronson playing between 8 and 10. That gives us more options for defensive players to actually get the ball forward instead of backwards and sideways. The slow build up allows Firpo to get forward and provide width on the left whilst Dan James stays on the right touchline. It was a perfect balance. It took him a couple of games but he's figured out a possible way to make this paper thin squad tick. We'll sign 4 this week and **** it all up against Hull now.
So I take it you are rescinding the original statement and giving a shed load of praise for Farkes tactics last night? That would be the big boy move.
I struggle with him because he went on strike. Refused to play not only for the club but the fans who supported him so strongly when he arrived. He apologised to Farke but I'm not sure he apologised to the fans. Wober was as bad, taking the captaincy and then leaving. I'm not keen on Aaronson either but at least he was 1st one out of the door. His attitude last night was top notch.
Not me,give me Farke over moyes all day,did well last season against all odds imo,can see him doing the same this season, hopefully with a 1 or 2 place higher finish.
Aaronson not the first to realise the grass is not always better elsewhere, bet Phillips would give his right arm to go back to the day he went city.Beckford spent the rest of his time wishing he could come back.
