Shame the weather is so miserable and forecast doesn’t look too jolly. A lot of the new facilities/fan zones at St Mary’s look like they’ll be best served on dry days Confident of a good atmosphere and hoping for a competitive game. Bad memories of that Wigan match in our last promotion season are haunting me
On the one hand I can kind of see what you mean, but the lower league eras are a proud part of the clubs history as well. The ‘big club’ fans who have never experienced anything but PL might think it’s a bit cringeworthy, but they have never experienced any real adversity as fans and they are all the lesser for it. Experiencing hard times and fighting your way back is something to be proud of.
Well done for goading the Saints masses and the underdog spirit Remember Forest are a BIG club, they've won a league title, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, an FA Charity Shield, 2 European Cups and a UEFA Super Cup We are plucky little Saints, an FA Cup, a JPT and a play-off final COYR
I'm very proud of what we achieved during the dark days, don't get me wrong. I just personally wouldn't represent with the JPT win. But each to their own.
What worries me is that Libby’s posted twice this morning without saying **** VAR. I hope that isn’t an omen.
It was your irony It is a bit like saying that Woolworths was a big store. Doesn't exist now! As for Forest, they might have a bigger base support, but not that much bigger.
I normally only do it once on the match freds but with last week being the opener it felt warranted to do it on match day too. We might get another on here around 5pm
A bit of rain isn't dampening my excitement. Besides, most of the rain is meant to have cleared by midday.
Yeah ****ing miserable out there but I actually quite like footy in these conditions sometimes. Though may not be ideal for our passing game. Please no unnecessary risky passes back to Alex Saints. What's the bets they have the sprinklers on still.
Thing is, we adapted our way of playing when McCarthy came in for the last few games of last season into the playoffs because we know he’s not good at passing it out under pressure, and it made us better as we skipped some of the needless passing around and moved it forward quicker. Not sure why we haven’t just been continuing with that.
Wonder if we’ll set up the same today as we did away to Newcastle or maybe Archer starts and we change things up a bit.
