Funny, I learn the odd snippets on here about the actual but what I really learn is about the posters love it
I think it was sales and time dependent. If we could have sold TP, ABK (and Charly), O'Reilly at £25m could have been a reasonable possibility for us.
I don’t really agree because even if we’d sorted those funds he would likely have picked Brighton over us
I just heard on talksport, Ivan Toney is only on £20k a week. How much do Brentford end up selling him for? I know, l know, I know, but what a signing he would be as our new centre forward. Lol
For that reason he is looking for a big move with huge wages as he has never signed a big premier league style contract. It’s the only reason he would even have been entertaining a move to Saudi at this stage of his career I’m just not convinced any attacking signing this window will be a central striker. Although I’d like it to be the case. Goalkeeper, central striker and winger (even if it is “only” sorting out Ryan Fraser) and that will be good
I’m sure he doesn’t. The culture shock would be enormous. My point was more that the only reason he is even considering it is that his current contract is the largest one he’s ever signed. Brentford might actually be in a spot of bother if he doesn’t go somewhere. Even if it means dropping the price as deadline day approaches - which I assume is what other clubs are hoping for Latest link I saw was to the clown car club. I assume the runners are Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea. Maybe Man United. They keep getting linked despite Hojlund and the new Dutch guy. He’d have to go to someone who can swallow the PSR loss (even amortised) and be happy with not being able to make a profit on him. That’s the other issue
Potentially a bad thing as we will have another rival for any potential striker targets. Might have been better for us if this had fallen through
After Bijlow, Hopefully we can move on Alcaraz, ABK and Onuachu and look to bring in a AM/RW and a Striker.
