Even if they don't become the next Messi (which is obviously extremely unlikely), youngsters are great to keep around to fill out the squad. This also means you can generally spend a bit more on quality first team players too
This is really about who is thr next elliott or jones. In a year or twos time quansah and Bradley might be them. Who will be the wuansah or bradley. You don't need 5, you just need one or two
You can't underestimate an Elliott or Jones mate, Man Utd dominated the 90s and 00s by filling their squad with these types (Brown, Phil Neville, Butt, Da Silva's, etc)
Who's to say how many you need. It doesn't happen often but if you've got 5 coming through together, keep them, nurture and develop them and enjoy watching them knowing what an achievement it's been. The academy is there for a reason and it's not to develop players for other clubs. Sure that's what also happens as most players won't be good enough and should be sold in fairness to them so they actually get playing time. Developing players that make it into the first team is one of the best things a club can do.
True, I just mean its a massive bonus and very rare. We went 10 years after Gerrard and carragher with just a couple average enough lads surfacing and vanishing. If we are really honest what we have now is purchases not youths. Jones is a local youth, trent is a local youth, quansah is not quite but was here from 5. The ones being talked about like nallo and nyoni are all bought in. Doak, bajcetic, Clark, McConnell, scanlon, Gordon all bought in. Vdb, bought in. We do it to make profit and honestly if we look at the team squad we have kelleher, Bradley as scouted kids from ireland then quansah, Jones and trent as academy and then elliott as the main bought in youth who is in the senior squad. That's pretty much top of the class for squad numbers being developed cheap. Arsenal have martinelli and saka and everyone else has been signed by arteta. City have foden and Lewis and Bobby is like elliott. They've more there as well. Utd have mainoo and Washford and I'm not sure garancho counts. There's a few behind those as well Most clubs have a couple. You.really want to be seeing a couple in each age group just to show you are consistent
Liverpool cast offs list: Pitaluga. Just not cutting it at adult ball. Jakub Ojrzynski. Another forgotten keeper Miles. Nice lad but nowhere near a debitn Mabaya. Injured for how long? Pilling. U18s former captain and never got near a first tram squad Balagizi. Failed loans and missed chances. Corness. Back from loan Hill Morton. 2 big looks amd seem as a profit now. Cannonier - loads of injuries Then there's these guys Phillips. 65k a week madness Bajcetic- people looking for a player that hasn't nee them since he was injured. May only get games elsewhere Doak. Seems up for sale. Let's see who they sell or loan out of that. I've gone largely for those 20 and above.
Unless he’s from Watford, he’s from the north so is local. either way, local academy doesnt mean anything, your saying about academy kids that have been brought to the academy from others, Quansah doesn’t go into that group as been with club all his career
Get to **** Form the north?? So to you Liverpool Manchester Leeds Newcastle are all locals to each other???
