I might be in the minority but I think this is alright He's likely to have an important part in their season and will get prem experience, lets say they sell him in 3 years time, it'll either be because: Worst case scenario - he's not been great, but he'll be 26 and still be very good - a fee of 10m would net us a few million Base case - he's hot ****, man city buy him for 80m and we get 10m extra. Puts the overall deal range at like 22m - 32ish depending on how he does in the future
Ready to go is comedy at the moment, they are going ****ing crazy and not one of them know about the finances behind this deal, someone said Clarke may have been told if a bid comes in over £x and you want to go, you can go. We just dont know, no point in losing sleep about it, we cant do anything about it, and as for the "supporters" slagging Dreyfuss off (I liked him in Jaws) If I win the Euromillions tonight all £79 million, the last thing in my head would be to throw money at SAFC
As I’ve said before I’ll only pipe up if there is misinformation being put out that is potentially damaging and mischievous but I’m close to this and what you’re saying is categorically untrue. It was always a fluid situation and all parties knew that (and knew that there was a very good chance he moved) but they were also all prepared for Jack to be here beyond this window.
"SAFC are delighted to announce the signing of exciting forward Wilson Isidor on a season long loan" Comments "Weres the ****ing Clarke money gone ya ****ing spenks" "We;re ****ed with out Clarke man, ****ing @kspeakan man ya ****"
We built a team around Stewart and suffered when he was crocked ... ... it's not a good policy imo. We're building a squad of players who are almost all interchangeable which I like. Browne, for example, could replace Jobe, Neil, Ekwah, etc, in case of suspensions or injuries ... ... and the same goes for Jobe, Poveda, etc. It all makes it easier to rest players, especially the younger ones, and also keep people on their toes.
Clarke has been brilliant for us but was always going to go at some time. The fee seems a tad small but it may be that the sell on clause will actually inflate it in time. Reading about Isidore its clear that wide left is a position that he has excelled in and will Simic hopefully coming in we could be well placed. In some ways the most disappointing thing is that Clarke has gone to a club that will surely go straight down. I actually like Ipswich but you have to feel that Harte has whispered in Clarke's ear and told him to get to the Premier League and then get a move to a bigger club next year. I think we all wish Jack Clarke well but I can't help feel he could have got a better move than this to the likes of West Ham or Crystal Palace etc.
Anyway you want to dress it up £15m for Clarke is bad business and we should have been looking for double that given other transfers from the championship given that a good proportion of that will go to spurs. we need new owners.
Not a chance anyone pays £30m for Clarke. He's completely unproven in the PL We're getting £20m + 15% sell on The new owners comment is an absolute joke.
We don’t need to sell and certainly not for peanuts. mug we had owners with ambition we invest in a decent striker keep Clarke and have a real go for promotion.
Imo we needed to sell , I think Jack wants premier league football and wants to go(best of luck to him) ,the owner will invest the money into the squad and hopefully scouts and speakman have identified players to buy or already at the club and we move on. Personally I'm happy with the way the clubs run were making money and improving the squad
Sound. I was told that he wouldn't be and would be sold. Was told he wouldn't sign the deal that's been on the table. He didn't sign and has been sold. End.
We don’t need to sell and we should have got £25m. the owners lack ambition and have treated the support with disdain. Some have short memories, you should have given them a hand to decorate the BCB!
I'm hoping we have a good go at the playoffs this year, regardless. Even man city sell players who don't want to be there. Signings in the next week will tell us much.
