Think having Mundle, Poveda and Watson as left wing cover makes us pretty strong there, altho clearly all are more unproven than JC was at this level.

Agree we have needed to become far less reliant on JC as a team and the 1st 2 games has seen this happening.

We really need a couple of goal scoring forwards in the door in the next week, and very confident this will now happen.

Imagine the value of Jobe, Rigg and Neil, with JC being at 20m. Those 3 will all go further in the game, in my view.

Every club sells players, we just arent that used to it.

That's only true, of course, if he succeeds at Ipswich which is far from guaranteed ...

... if he doesn't make it in the PL it would make the fee look too high but that would be their problem.

If we end up signing all 3, it's going to be my told you so moment.

If we don't, I obviously wasn't being serious

Impossible to tell, they will have a rough idea of what he could be worth but thats all performance related

They wont spend that but i reckon theyll havr got ipswich to pay more upfront now than in installments. That way we can spend more now to have a right crack at the PL

It tends to be profit from what I've read. Don't think I have heard of too many times where it was of the entire sale.

Yeah it’s a weird one, he then goes on to say he would suit playing CF in a fast paced league like ours

Could you pop on to twitter and let *check notes* ALL of twitter know this? There is one almighty meltdown going on and people accusing the club of all sorts

Clarke leaving really doesn't sound like the end of the world when you look at our options for our front three like that. Hopefully the recruitment team have a big week.

If it's guaranteed then you assume it will be appearance-related or possibly additional instalments.

Was really prolific playing LW for Lokomotiv. It would be logical for us to sanction Clarke leaving if his replacement was actually done.

We'll know more when the dust settles on 1st Sept. There is a lot of teeth gnashing and hand wringing going here and social media when no-one knows what is really going on.
Like I've always said - judge the transfer window once it's closed.

I don't think we will for for a left winger, or necessarily need to. Mundle will likely be the ready replacement and although a bit raw I can see him growing into it as the season goes on. I also think Rusyn may get a chance there to prove himself. Poveda can also play there I believe.

We're also seemingly less reliant on Clarke this season thankfully.

If we get these strikers in we have been linked with it will massively soften the blow.

Agree on all counts. It's been obvious in our first two games that our game plan is no longer "give it to Clarkie" and whilst he'll be a huge miss, we will go on...

I mean even if it's in installments I think we'd be fine, likelihod is that it would be over 2/3 years which would allow us to stay within FFP limits even if we spend it this summer.

iirc we were well above the FFP threshold anyway so gives us a bit wiggle room either way

Day off here. Enrolling the eldest in college then bunging him on a train for a weekend away (GCSE results reward)

Thinking about it, would have to be.

If it was just the fee we'd be due a percentage of £10m if he flopped and they unloaded him.
