Because we've signed the strikers we planned to sign? As in, unless Oscar leaves I don't think we're bringing another in.
Other than Hughes I know nothing about the other 2. Although most on here are happy with them Tan said it was a striker
None, that's my point, it hasn't eventuated. Not doing this Geo. You can go round in circles if you want.
Ben Doak and Tyler Morton both allowed to leave Liverpool on permanent deals, that would be a hell of a deadline day double.
Are you tan, or how do you know? If we’ve signed the ones we planned then one has to be the dynamic changer…or it’s not what we planned We might have already agreed to let Oscar go
Hughes and Millar blew my socks off. They're the only ones though. Zambrano no idea who he is same with Puerta and he isn't signed yet.
I struggle to understand this view, whilst he was at the Afcon we were proper bollocks and his introduction to his national side got them the trophy. He’s 33 and it’s certainly time if we are going to do it seen as there’s been a complete overhaul but to say we won’t miss a player of his quality just simply isn’t true.
People justifying it as 'well he didn't score many goals or get many assists' as if those are the only metrics that make a good player..
I viewed Seri to be both brilliant and frustrating in equal measures. Brilliant in the middle of the pitch, but lack of end-product in the opposition third, and too often calamitous mistakes in our defensive third often gifting the opposition with a goal or clear cut chance. Would rather have him than even as a backup than not have him, but that's because of the still unknown quantity of our recent signings/incoming.
There's a lot of excitement over largely unknown signings who have yet to do much in the game but we've lost an awful lot of Championship experience and good performers. You're not allowed to say anything though, as it's 'boring' or 'negative'.
Seri was a brilliant player, but I'm happy to go along with Walter's view on him not fitting in, in much the same way I was happy to go along with Rosenior not wanting Oscar even though I rate him too. I think it's important that managers are allowed to build their squad and have the players they want. We'll probably never know what Seri was on here but it must be a lot, with how we chased him across the middle east with increasing offers to get him to sign in the first place. On a totally separate note, trying to get my head around where everyone fits in now. Not so sure Ömür is seen as a winger now as I thought he would be. I think TW wants out and out wingers in the Millar mold on both sides and is happy to play a very attacking lineup on paper with Ömür as one of his midfielders like he did in the Sheff Wednesday game. But then with the current known targets we'll still only really have Millar, Longman and then some kids as out and out wingers. We probably need two more. Meanwhile we'll have a lot of midfielders and it's hard to see how they can all fit in.
I'm not so sure TW didn't think he would fit into his system, he said in his interview yesterday with RH, they have known for a while his intentions, so I think he was left out because TW knew he was not staying.
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-transfer-state-play-9501105 At least 6 more expected: A 3rd goalkeeper to challenge for number 1 - Highly rated coming in on loan (Seems a waste of the final loan spot) Meffert expected Puerta moving closer, could be completed before Millwall (Doubt it) 2 wingers - Abu Kamara is a target, but have others in mind too Braced for concrete interest in Oscar Have another key striker target, which would be a permanent deal for a significant fee Also says don't rule out a loan from the prem, but with a keeper and Puerta that would take us to 6 loans? Seri going. Interest remains in McLoughlin and Giles. Plans in place if either do end up leaving
