I suppose it would be prudent to say to the player / agent. Let's agree a new deal but we'll wait a week or 2 incase ant big bids come in. Looking at everything the club has done over the summer, I'd still be surprised if they let Clarke go.
My logi My logic is because Isidor is a loan, there's space for 2 permanent Plus, if this season is a massive push for promotion and we do get it, then these 3 could potentially do it in the premier League and we're strengthening in advance. But I'm optimistic by nature lol
You could argue the same about half the PL teams though if we’re basing being a massive club on how many fans we get through the door alone. It’s a bit disrespectful and slightly arrogant to think a club in the PL shouldn’t be able to sign our players when we’ve not been in the PL for 7 years now. We all seen how toxic the club became in L1 under the previous ownership it was f*cking dreadful attending home games at times with a half full stadium and the fans on the players backs most weeks. Even though we’re in a much better position now that situation we found ourselves in wasn’t that long ago and probably still bears scars. We don’t have a right to keep our best players because we were once a good team, before we were all born.
This sort of thinking is why we ended up in league 1 in the first place with a team of **** journeymen.
Also just to add to the echo trying to play it down. I don't see any reason for croatian media to lie and make it up that he was here for a medical. Also, he missed their game last night and their spokespersons aid it's because he's in talks with another club
The Vermont will miss one of it's valued customers! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4gv5r7edjvo
To be fair they've had this strategy for at least 15 years, we bought Patrick Van Aanholt from their academy 10 years ago. It seems to be a sound financial strategy, if a little abusive to the players.
Exactly, it amazes me that some supporters want to repeat the same mistakes that caused us all of that heartache
