Harte is advising JC to hang fire until we see what happens at the end of the window. Jack is still more than happy here, he loves being at SAFC and would never force a move, but also wants to play in the PL and ideally would love it be with us. I'd mentioned before that we'd turned down bids from Ipswich earlier in the summer, and they've come back with another (slightly) higher offer, but J isnt interested in going there. The Leeds stuff was rubbish.
Clarke might just see a signing like Simic as really exciting and decides to stay I dont think hes in a rush to leave at all
My opinion on the JC situation. For starters I’d never WANT to sell JC. He’s immense however, I see a 25 million offer too important for our club to continue the model and strengthen the team. also, it’s apparent in these first two games under RLB we rely on him a lot less than previously. If we’d had sold him before we’d do nothing. Now I’m confident the whole team is contributing, we have decent backups and then the money for a replacement
Assuming Spurs have that 30% sell-on for Clarke, we'd be looking at: £15m - £10.5m is ours (4.5m to Spurs). £18m - £12.6m (5.4m) £20m - £14m (£6m) £25m - £17.5m (£7.5m) Those are the figures I've seen mentioned, really hits home that we shouldn't be taking less than £20m in total.
Numerous sources, including local news outlet the Sunderland Echo have been linking Sunderland AFC winger Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town in the last day or so. Spurs signed Clarke from Leeds United back in the summer of 2019, before immediately loaning him back to Leeds. He played once there in the first six months of the season, so Spurs loaned him out to QPR. That didn't overly work out either, and a few loans later, he was sold to Sunderland in the summer of 2022 for an undisclosed fee. Clarke is absolutely a much better player now than the player who left Spurs. Last season he recorded 15 goals and 12 big chances created in 40 league games, whilst completing 3.7 dribbles per game. He has started this season with a goal and an assist in the first two games, too. Hence the Premier League interest. The above report from the Sunderland Echo suggests that Ipswich's bid is thought to begin around £15 million and "various add-ons" and whilst that won't be enough to prize him away from the Stadium of Light, it represents ambition from Ipswich, and perhaps we could see another bid come soon. Tottenham might receive extra cash from sell-on deal Ipswich have been happy to shop in the Championship this summer, signing Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn Rovers, Jacob Greaves from Hull, and Conor Towsend from WBA. Whilst the transaction for Liam Delap will go to Manchester City - he had spent the previous two seasons on loan in the Championship. I’d been thinking that our excellent start might help with attracting better players and Simic certainly seems to fit that. Great timing for those 2 wins.
It has never been officially disclosed, I did remember reading we paid £750,000 with a 40% sell-on at one point which I thought was an incredible fee to pay for a former £10m player, but the most frequent was £3m and 30%. We don't really know, what we know is that Levy is a čüñt and could get blood from a stone.
I know I'm dreaming, but could you imagine if in one big press announcement we announced signings of Simic, Isisdor and Clarke signing a contract extension?
