That seems like a pretty tolerable deal, 25% sell on in particular. Hopefully there's enough time left in the window to replace him.

£38m from Idah, Sara, Rowe, with bonuses that take that to £46m + sell-ons. Hopefully a couple of young additions who help fit the new style.

And finally, Connor Southwell has intimated that we are also getting closer to concluding a deal for a CM; no name, no details other than "a CM".

Chris Reeve has added that a medical should take place this week for the CM - still no name.

Things may have changed, but I think it'll be a CM not DM based only on the way the Pinkun were talking about things the other day.

Norwich City are in talks with Real Madrid about signing attacking midfielder Reinier on a loan deal. A Brazilian attacking midfielder that Real Madrid spent €30m on.

One that doesn’t sound like it is going to progress as Knapper is not sure they can ge the finances to work.

I imagine it would require Real to keep paying a considerable chunk of his wages. Has never played for RM, but spent two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund and latterly a season at each of Girona (La Liga) and Frosinone (Serie A), so a good amount of top tier experience.

Renier Jesus. Is he the unnamed CM mentioned above? Reading on other sites it is close to a done deal.

Southwell's latest piece in the Pink'Un is ambivalent on this, but my sense is that Reinier isn't the hitherto unidentified CM. Reinier is most accurately described as an AM who can also play wide (either side), i.e. more of a front three player like Rowe than a 6 or 8 for the midfield. That said, Thorup encourages versatility and has previous when it comes to selecting players "out of position", e.g. front line attackers in midfield, so who knows. All I can say is, if Crnac signs followed by Reinier and one other, we are going to have some season ahead of us!

I think the Pinkun have already said they don't believe this is accurate. May have looked at him before, but not an active focus.

Montoia looks to have left the club, Paddy Davitt said to expect confirmation soon. He was taking up one of the ESC spots, a bit wasted on a third choice LB.

I don’t believe so, the name of the CM is still not known as far as I am aware. Whereas Reinier was brought up as a name of interest to Knapper

It’s a shame about Montoia, I thought he looked decent in preseason but agreed we have to fully utilise those ESC spots

Arsenal agree on deal to sell Charlie Patino to Deportivo La Coruña for £1m fixed fee but significant sell-on clause included.

this could have been a great deal for us if we had been jnterested

Knapper must know everything there is to know about Patino, so if we weren't interested, there will be a reason. Or, just possibly, Knapper's hands may be tied as regards raiding the Gunner's stock of young talent?

According to my eldest son. who has an Arsenal season ticket, Patino is a ' wonder kid ' whose development has gone backwards. Too many temptations in London my son suggested and having failed in two loan spells away Arsenal have given up on him and sold him with a large sell on fee contract. Knapper would have known all this.

Can somebody please clarity if the Rowe move is a loan with option to buy, or money up front (£14m) plus add ons. No loan involved.

It's believed to be a single season loan (3m loan fee payable upfront), with a contract to purchase outright on the terms agreed following expiry of the loan period.

    Next question is why?
Aren't all transfers paid in drawn out installments anyway? What's the point of making the 1st year a loan if they're obliged to buy anyway? Is it simply pushing the purchase date down the track for accounting purposes?

It's to do with financial fair play rules. I'll leave Robbie to give you the detailed explanation.
