I personally think he's got more going for him than what JC had when he arrived here. JC was frustrating and inconsistent when he was at us in L1. He was even benched for Embleton on the big day at Wembley. Mundle is quicker, capable of carrying the ball up the pitch and also likes to get a shot away. The issue for Mundle is that he's only really had game time when the team was in a slump.
Yeah. I think if Mundle has a run with the actual first team, we will see a significant improvement in his consistency. He has been the standout with the second team, with better players he will get more opportunities.
If he signs for Ipswich there's a very good chance he'll end up back in the Championship in short order. Apart from the obvious immediate financial gain,I can't see what that would do for his career. We discussed this yesterday...if I was him I'd want a start every week move to one of the secure PL big boys, and a spectacular season at the top of the Championship with us is the best way for him to achieve that goal.
Jack would be mad to go to a small premiership club like Ipswich, surely he's got bigger ambitions than that. For selfish reasons he should just stay here and see where our new manager can take us.
I'd agree with this . Ipswich are likely to be back in the championship next season, where we've got a chance of going up. Obviously money talks, but I would have thought Clarke wants to improve his career not move sideways. It could also be a game of chicken, with Clarke (and Harte) using interest to improve the contract offer they've gotten from us. Whatever happens, I presume the club have a plan in place
He would be guaranteed PL football with Ipswich tho whether tbey are likely to get relegated or not A good solid season with them in the PL will get him a good PL move next season even if they go down I personally think he will stay
I don't want Jack to go...and don't think Ipswich is the right club..however. money talks and bulls4it walks. If the lad gets his shot in the big league and make a fortune doing it...also, assuming if Ipswich get relegated he has a clause to get a move, then who can blame him... in my eyes most footballers ( not all) are interested in their bank account and the shot of playing in the premier. I'm guessing Clarke and his agent are no different
Here is guaranteed a starting place and has freedom to do what he wants to on the pitich here he is settles and loved, and any agent should want that for his client. Ipswich he will have to track back more and help with the LBW which isnt his strongest aspect.
I was given a name of a player a few days ago from someone on here n that player is represented by them I can't disclose the name unfortunately as was given it in confidence as a player we might be interested in
I’ve accepted for a while that Clarke would be away this summer (well from the moment the club gave up the remainder of last season with appointments of Beale and then Dodds) I’m also confident they will get the money they want for him my worry has been selling him so late in the window and how well they will reinvest the money. they've had some success in the window but have also wasted money on the likes of Hjelde and Rusyn If this is their approach buy low, develop, improve and sell on for big money to then re-invest larger amounts on players to strengthen the team then this is a massive test for them, hoping they get it right.
I think we can be sure we have a number of plans in place. There aren't many incidents of us having our pants pulled down in the KLD era. Mistakes, yes, but I have confidence that our management team have learned from them.
