Not necessarily. We could be sat in the top 4 come January and suddenly a new contract looks tempting
This will open up negotiations. It won’t be the accepted bid. I think a package totalling up to 25m will make them sell. 20 + 5 in add ons etc. Clarke might even ask the club to let him leave if he wants it
Little odds and ends I've heard re finance (and nowt more than that) is £20 million net to SAFC at a minimum.
My stance remains the same that if someone reaches our valuation of Clarke then we should sell and he would leave with my best wishes, Ipswich will triple his wage and if he performs he'd be in the PL with or without Ipswich in 25/26 like Odobert for example. If we can walk away with £17m (plus a nice sell on percentage) after Spurs take their cut that is a huge sum for a Championship side and i'd be pretty excited to see what we would do with it.
Where and for how much? I think he'll stay. I don't think anyone is willing to commit £25m That may come back and bite us on the arse if he doesn't sign a new deal
Omar Hutchinson was bought for over 18m with only 1 season under his belt. Minimum 25m + extras for me.
Eh? Ian Harte isn’t the reason Ipswich want Clarke. We can’t blame Ian Harte for premier league clubs wanting a player we all know is premier league quality. This desperation to blame him is getting silly
should also be adding a late in the window tax onto the fee, longer this takes up to the window closing the less opportunity we have to re-invest
Yep from the bits I've heard that's the aimed for amount. As it stands the club are still running at an operating loss and as we all know have agreed a few new contracts.
My fear with Clarke is he goes on strike / hands in transfer request to force move. I know everyone says he’s happy here and he clearly is. But this is modern football.
Players rarely do it as they'll waiver their loyalty bonus lol crazy to think they get paid extra for honouring a contract. 20-25m profit and he'll be pushed out like Henderson was.
