Yeah I've also been very happy with the quality of additions. I'll be honest I thought the Hughes one wouldn't eventuate and it'd just be a 'well, we tried to get someone, but instead we'll have to get a young PL CB on loan' sort of thing. I'm still skeptical of our striker options given Acun has long said that should be the position we invest the most money in and we never have - it's been a string of free signings and loans - but we'll see where we land.
I mean we've done exactly the same on the striker front again. It's obviously very hard to attract a quality striker at this level. We've lost a lot of quality and have replaced the likes of Tufan and soon Mika with inexperienced players The potential Travis signing is massive, we some more experience to help the younger ones through.
That's how many loans we can have in the matchday squad, I'm pretty sure we can have as many loans as we want. Last season we had seven at one point: Delap, Zaroury, Aydinlik, Carvalho, Morton, Ohio and Giles. Plus we had Twine and Vinagre earlier in the season.
You can’t count Aydinlik, he wasn’t even registered as a first team player and we only had six because Delap was a long term absentee. Realistically, there’s no point in having more than five loans.
A review of the open training session from Atilla on the Hull City International Facebook page... Just attended the public training session at MKM. First look at some of our new players. Good to see Drameh back playing again after seeing some pics of him in a walking boot. He looks promising. Not sure how he gonna fit in with Coyle playing top level. Zambrano first seems to be nervous some bad touches at the begging with a small 4 goals in a corner football but as the game went on he got better and better. Later on a half pitch match game he was real good, had a few good interceptions, great passing and a very clever goal as well (there was not many goals) promising guy Oscar... oh God. His first touch is bad his passing is bad. Finishing was bad. He really struggled with a small pitch limited space football. Couldn't even score in a training. He should be nowhere near the team after a transfer window closes please log in to view this image The highlight of the day was Charlie Hughes. What a player. Absolute class. What a prospect. Question marks were there if he can play at Championship level. No doubt. He's something in between our league and the PL. Great passing, didn't panic, pinpoint forward passes even up the middle. He's just 20 but so confident! Great in the air. In between the 2 keeper Racioppi looks much better. He's good with his feet comparing to Pandur who was holding again the ball for relatively long. Not so confident with passing. Definitely Racioppi should be our number 1 Downside of the session was there was no shots on target training. We had a small football on 4 small goals in each corner and than half pitch football. Also at he end they had some game which was even a 7 year old behind me questioning what do we need this for. This session was for the spectators too so they could have ended it with a penalty shootout for example. Get some confidence and also fun for fans
Shots on target training do people think shooting without any defenders actually helps them in a game
Rosenior was sacked, Tim Walter from Germany was appointed, Greaves and Philogene sold.. ..Wait which Plymouth game?
Chris Bedia to come in today. Top scorer in Switzerland 2022-2024, big tall quick striker, scores all types of goals. Gustavo Puerta supposedly coming in. Colombian midfielder who featured a handful of times for Leverkusen last season. Looks to be a tenacious technical midfielder. Rumours Lewis Travis wealth of experience, top ball winner, a profile of midfielder we’ve been missing for years. Faride Alidou young winger from Germany previously played under Walter, supposedly lightning quick, scored a few in the Bundesliga last season. Abu Kamara, right winger from Norwich who’s handed in a transfer request, had a very good season in league 1 last season, we are desperate for a natural right winger. Jonas Meffert, holding midfielder from Hamburg, the heart beat of Walter’s team there but they don’t want to let him go despite reports of him wanting to come and a transfer request going in.
He’s said we are trying for Meffert and uploaded an article yesterday saying we could yet make a move
