Can well imagine Rasmus phoning up Rasmus and telling him all about his latest motivational manual releasing with Penguin Books
Agree. I get the argument of 'if they stay up, it's worth it' but it's very easy to imagine Broja having another 5/6 goal season like had with us or getting a serious injury / not being the same after his ACL last season. I'm also curious as to how Broja and Delap both fit into their XI given they've committed £50m on them
I've not seen a lot of Broja since he finished his spell under Hasenhutl but I do wish he was joining us rather than Ipswich. With our centre forwards being Onuachu, Stewart & Mara I can't see how he wouldn't have been a solid upgrade. Chances created and not taken better not be the season ahead.
The Broja deal really isn't as bad as Saints fans are making out. Yes, he is worth closer to £15m rather than £30m. But what is that extra £15m if they stay up? We just spent that supposedly on a squad player who will be back up to Smallbone and Aribo! If you want to survive you have to take risks, this one is at least minimal and protects the club from real trouble if they lose PL money next season.
He might be come the end of the season, but currently he will not start ahead of Downes, Aribo or Smallbone. He has been signed as competition/for the future rather than to start right away.
Nah, completely disagree. He's been signed for the here and now. Martin said this himself. Personally, I think Smallbone and Aribo are no longer automatic starting players, with Lesley and Fernandes brought in. He won't start straight away as Martin will want him up to speed with his methods but I can see him forcing his way in quickly.
One thing we've not really covered is how important KWP was to everything good we did on Saturday. A new contract for him would be our most important signing now, for .e. Suspect it's unlikely. GK on loan and a left footed ring winger and I'd be really really happy.
Fair play. I was going from memory and totally blanked on Archer. He’s a good signing and pleased to have him here. An upgrade for sure but for me he was adams’ replacement so my point about the rest of the forward line still stands. Not much to be confident about with the other 3 so I’m really hoping we don’t get let down by them. maybe I will be surprise
oh, for sure, he was simply brilliant but equally the way RM set us up and the way KWP executed were equally impressive. How he does t have suitors is beyond me. Plenty of watchers will be tossing up a cheap move or waiting for a free when the contract is up. I will be gutted to lose him and it will be a huge blow if we fail to keep him.
Good business. Lis on the way out too. Hope a few more follow them. It feels as though exits are as important as incomings at the moment.
Yep, for sure. I'm expecting a flurry of movement on the outgoing front between now and Sunday/Monday and then think we'll get some strong incoming rumours/updates again as we start the final week of the window
