Some of the decision making about new players must have been delayed until we had installed a new manager, but we have had ample time since Cooper was appointed to have made an offer for him. Maybe Cooper doesn't fancy him as the answer. He's more of a goal scoring midfielder unlike Ayew who is an out and out striker, isn't he?
Looking at his stats he joined Blackburn from Peterborough in 2022/23 and scored 5 in 34, and last season scored 27 in 44. Or were you referring to Ayew? His stats are pretty abysmal - 3 in 31 in 2021/22, 4 in 38 in 2023/23, 4 in 35 last season. He's just what we need. OG is likely to score more than that.
Hi buddy, it's a bit complicated, but I had a stroke 2 years ago and was recovering well, but then got jaundiced, so went in hosp. again. The op. to put a stent into my bile ducts worked, but wouldn't stop bleeding so had another (apparently) which stopped the bleeding, but took many transfusions. My kidneys packed-up for a while, but fortunately recovered, although I now have a permanent drain tube coming out of my stomach. Turned-out it is cancer of the bile ducts, which is rare and incurable. Bit of a **** really, but at least I got to see the foxes win the Premier League AND the FA Cup!
Dont give up buddy. My terminal cancer is in remission. Enjoy what you are able to and sack off anything that you are incapable of. Good to have you back.
Nice one mate. I'm pretty immobile, but have plenty to watch on TV & internet (just watched Ipswich v Liverpool) and endless films, so keeping occupied. I also keep an eye on the PL board if I'm bored - always funny! Great news that you are in remission - keep fighting bud.
Looks like Skipp could be signing today ... which could mean Soumare deal is close... possibly Kristiansen too ... although I'd be tempted to play all 3 Danes against Spurs ... in fact I'd go ... Hermandsen Kristiansen Vestergaard Faes Justin Ndidi Winks Buenanotte Fatawu Cannon Mavididi
Steve Cooper (per club website) wants us all to "Take A Good Feeling Into The Season" ... ... thing is Steve, having been humped markedy in the pre-season games, failed miserably on the most exciting transfer pursuits then learning that Jordan Ayew is perceived as a striking 'fix' by the management ... that's rather like me wacking my todger with a mallet then being told to enjoy the resultant throbbing sensation ...
Absolutely take that unexpected result. A bit of a slow and shaky start but played much better second half. And, just when you think you can't possibly love Jamie Vardy any more than you do, he delivers that tonight. A goal and top draw sh1thousery.
Thought Fatawu was excellent. Always a bit of doubt as to whether a player can make the move up to the next level but he absolutely nailed it. Even though his full back generally had the better of him in the first half he never gave him a minute's peace and eventually he got on top. Great ball in for Vardy's goal and his willingness to get back and help defend was top drawer. What a player and what an attitude. Size doesn't matter for players with that much heart.
Isn't it great to be back. Lacked a bit of belief it seemed but grew into it so well. No stand outs but everyone pulled their weight. The game was so much faster than the championship and that could have been the difference in keeping the ball but a very positive result.
I feel a lot more optimistic after that. Bounonette(?) was great - I know there’s nothing in place to sign him so let’s just be grateful that we have him for the year. Skipp I think is a good addition to midfield, will certainly retain the ball well. It’s good to think that we have him, Winks and Ndidi (presumably playing 2 of them) and not having to panic about injury/rotation. The other thing that stood out was that Mavididi is clearly not a striker. If Vardy gets injured then we are screwed. If anything, I thought Mavididi would be a better option on the left and BDR up front if we’re desperate?
In some good news, the bitter muppet that is Chris Sutton, who has never got over Brendan Rodgers dumping Celtic for a club with 'more ambition' has - predictably (pun intended) predicted we'll get well beaten at Fulham - he also predicted we'd get thumped by Spurs - hopefully, we'll rub his nose in it once again ...
