Hard one to call, if Jens Cajuste, Sammy Szmodics and also one of the cb's we have been linked with, are ready to play, then i think we will lose 3-0. If we play the same 11 that we played against Liverpool, then it's gonna be a slaughter fest, at least 6-0
During this new recruits period I am not expecting any surprising results. Time will tell. In KM we trust.
Think an extra midfielder (maybe Taylor) will start over 1 of the front 3 - Chaplin? Just hope we can avoid an absolute hammering and maybe get our 1st goal. Would be happy with 3-1 defeat (3-1 win would be better)
I hope you're not thinking of a 442, some on here will tear you to shreds if that's what you're saying, I wouldn't be one on them tho!!
I'd be surprised if Cajuste started, unless forced McKenna rarely brings new signings who haven't had a pre season with us straight into the team. Saying this if Burns is injured I expect Szmodics to start. With Burns, Boradhead and Hirst all injured we're looking pretty thin on the ground again in those forward positions. We lack that ability that we had last season to bring some real attacking threat off the bench to finish the game.
Its a dilemma isnt it? And one we dont need taking on the best team in England, and arguably the whole friggin world! Time to get our dusty old boots out boys!
An away match at this Man City side is the hardest fixture on the schedule for any Premier League team. Any result would be a massive bonus. Hopefully Rodri is still out and they get complacent, but I doubt it - Guardiola is arguably this generation’s best manager and an all-time Premier League great. They’ll be prepared and they’ll be ruthless. If we can score and get off the mark, it’d be great. But I think this will be a rude awakening. 4-0 defeat. As PTC says, our season properly starts against Fulham.
For the sake of the prediction league, if neither of those scenarios pan out - what’s your back up score prediction?
I don't really understand that it's allowed that promoted sides get two contenders for the Premiership first off. It happened to us and it has the potential to knock the stuffing out of teams. Is it just the way the cookie crumbles? Not sure. Anyway...park the bus.
To be fair, with the ambition that Norwich showed when they arrived in the top flight during the Delia era you could play Bournemouth followed by Fulham on the opening weekends and have the stuffing knocked out of you.
