    Excellent all round.

Rigg MoM for me. What a player we have on our hands. Best youngster I have seen come through our system.

Gareth Ainsworth loves us doesn't he? Weird one, never played for us, not from the area, no need for it but I'll take it.

    well, that was canny like...

not going to get 'excited' over a couple of early wins, just as i would not get too disappointed with a couple of early defeats....but, that was an excellent game, the lads stuck to the plan and apart from the first few minutes, stifled wednesday and restricted them to few attempts.

some players, while still being very effective, look more subdued than they did last season, mainly clarke and roberts as last season we seemed to look for clarke every time and the opposition simply put two men on him while roberts tried to take too many on and usually ran himself into a blind alley.

jobe and neil simply moved around the middle taking care of the ball while rigg had more of a free role, defence was pretty solid apart from a couple of occasions but recovered well.

mayenda, take a bow son, very good goal to get you off the mark and a 'proper strikers' goal for your 2nd.

overall, the press was excellent and had wednesday players in a wee bit of a panic at times.

ref was shocking in all fairness, i can remember three or four times when one of ours (jobe, mayenda, clarke) went through two or three tackles and never got a free kick, then mayenda had a free kick against him and never touched the lad (could and should have been in for his hat trick at that point) although his officials were spot on with their offside calls.

my MotM has to go to rigg, young lad came in to replace a lad who himself had a good game last week and shone, especially that ball through to clarke for the mayenda 2nd, totally unfazed by barry bannanas reputation and only denied a deserved goal by a good save...mayenda is a close runner up though, led the line well and opened his account with style.

Jobe for me was the best player on the pitch, closely followed by Rigg, they broke down every attack and were instrumental in every attack for us.
Forwards can only score if they have service, enough said.

The only negative I take from the game was the ref not addressing the center half who fouled our players and got away with it.

I think I count 6 players who would have been in contention for MOTM.

Cirkin, LON, Rigg, Clarke, Roberts and Mayenda.

Been a while since we could say that.

Thought Rigg should have got man of the match but I’m really pleased they gave it to Mayenda. The more confidence he can absorb the better for him and the team.

Brilliant that like. Watching that high press instead of slow, predictable, sideways build up was a joy. Certainly got the crowd going should be like take every week not just certain fixtures on key dates hopefully see more of it this season.

This. But probably would swap the Jobe/Rigg scores around.

Absolutely outstanding, that. Jobe MOTM for me - lad was absolutely everywhere. Everyone on the pitch was fantastic. RLB has them playing some tremendous football.

Chris Rigg man. Wow, what a talent we have on our hands.

That's pretty much as 'complete' a performance you will see from a team this season. Excellent in possession, great pressing and were nice a compact defensively.

    Cirkin top draw as well.

What gives me most pleasure, watching SAFC, is when one ofour youngsters comes good.

Going back to when Chris Rigg got his first Goal, (not given) as a fifteen year old, I've been willing him to do well.

Today though, he showed another side that impressed.
When Mayenda got his first, took the applause ans was ready to rejoin the play, Chris turned him round to get him to 'take an extra bow'.
Adding to his confidence did the lad no harm at all.

Luke O'nien did an equaly good job of building the young strikers confidence, during the Sky interview.

Well that was brilliant, we're laying very good foundations for this season.

They couldn't cope with our high press, passing quality and speed.

Everyone played well, Jobe and Neil were excellent. Whole defence pretty faultless, Roberts looks back to his best, Clarke was his usual self and Mayenda led the line brilliantly against two big centre halves. Rigg however was sensational, especially for his age. He is going to play for a top European club...just hope we can hang onto him for a while yet as I can see someone taking a punt with a massive bid.

Next Saturday should be a very good match, they won't fancy playing us after that performance no matter how good they are.
