Is he? What are his attributes, I’ve literally no idea. I thought he was an alternate to MOR.

But no one from their end appears to be laughing at us for the fee. So that is something I guess

It’s whether he is good enough to play now and be effective that will be what counts. Loads of players we’ve signed in the last few years have been deemed as top talents, but very few actually were ready for first team football. We absolutely need first team upgrades this window, not players who need a year or two to develop (if they ever do/get a proper chance to)

We are already developing players. SAA and TD today were not the weapons most prem clubs can bring on. I am all for that, tbh, but we also need some firepower.

So, I agree. I think we have enough young talents. I want some who are already proven.

Issue then is being able to afford them. I’m hoping we are looking at slightly more developed players than last summer window before a PL season. If you look back at when we signed players like Edozie, Larios Bazunu and Mara I’m sure people were talking about them being highly rated top talents etc but none of them were good enough to play for a PL team.

Not saying that’s the same with this guy but have to hope he is more PL ready now, unless we have significantly more money that it appears and he is just coming in as a squad option with others to come who can make more of an immediate impact

Surely heads will roll at Wolves over this?.. Portuguese talent and they didn’t sign him, either he’s not very good or people getting fired!

He played last season on loan at Estoril in the Portuguese Premier League and has been a regular in the Portugal U21 team ever since.
    So I wouldn’t say he’s a Charly 2.0
Sporting fans really aren’t happy with him leaving as he was expected to be a big part of their team this season, but as with most clubs, they had to sell someone.
Guess it’s similar to us possibly selling Charly, where some fans will be unhappy as see him as a big talent??

This. I don't know anything about him, but he's backup (initially) for Will and Joe I'd imagine.

I can’t see why he would. Would he have ever even crossed paths with him? There is a generation between them. Sugawara and Yodhida are different as they were likely part of the same Japan squad

Seems weird we are strengthening the one area of the side which we don’t really need to.

Worst keeper in the league and no one that can score goals but we buy our 57th CM and 100 centre backs <laugh>

    Classic saints

I mean we haven’t replaced Stu yet (has he even signed for anyone?), so an attacking midfielder is necessary too imo. As we saw from Archer and Lesley, things can happen quickly and from nowhere, so doesn’t mean we don’t have things going on in the background for a GK too. Please Saints…please.

It might not be the absolutely most important area we need to strengthen. But we definitely do still need to replace Stu. No-one can carry a ball like Stu can. With the exception of 2022-23, when Stu began to look like he was struggling at PL level, it's always been noticeable when Stu wasn't in the team (whether PL or Championship).

As I said yesterday, I don't know if Fernandes can replace Stu. But if he can, then brilliant.

Charly can carry the ball like Stu, which us why I find it so odd we’re looking to move him, seemingly.
