He’s not but he’d press and harangue defenders relentlessly and do a better job of that than anyone we currently have.
He would but that isn't much of a challenge. We need someone to hold the ball up and score double figures.
Ideally we do, but in a weird way we dont need an out n out goalscorer as i think we have plenty goals across the team. Clarke n Jobe will both hit double figures Ballard n Cirkin could be around the 4-5 goal mark Browne is usually good for 4-5 a season as well If Roberts, Mundle, Ba and Poveda can get 15 plus between them Mayenda potentially 5 or so Obviously whoever comes in we want them to score double figures but im really wanting that player that can lead the line, pull defenders out of position, create space for teammates, as you say hold the ball up more I think those attributes are key in the next striker we go for
I was a little surprised no one went straight in for him when his Blackburn move unceremoniously collapsed in January.
This is exactly what you do when negotiating a loan with agreed future fee, ensures you get a good deal.
for me the outside the box stuff is almost more important than finishing. Any idea what he’s like in terms of pressing, hold up etc?
I’m sure someone will be watching a 60 second YouTube video right now before coming to try and convince us he’s a better fit than Mendy
A quick scan of his stats. He wins 2 aerial duels per 90. Doesn’t say much about his physical side to me.
He's definitely not a target man, struggles in the air and up against defenders. Movement is very good though, picks up good positions which means his lack of physicality isn't that much of an issue. Has good xA numbers for a forward and his shot placement data is pretty good. What I would struggle with is if he's signed instead of Mendy, completely different profiles.
