Decent first half. Restricted them and pressing well. Had a couple of half decent chances - Hutchinson’s probably the best. It’s going better than expected. Think we’re playing fairly well.

Not disheartened either gaffer but at the same time I just don't get the changes at all. Greaves looks quality as expected, Wolfy looks dodgy as does our right side. Leif won't have Salah every week!
They outlasted us - scored from a lapse of concentration, and it went downhill from there. A defeat was always realistically on the cards. I thought we gave a decent account of ourselves, considering the opposition. That second half was more like the introduction we feared from the Premier League. I know we have a few injuries, but the lack of squad depth was truly on show when Harness and Al-Hamadi came on. McKenna hinted at a few more signings in his pre-match press conference - bring them on!
Can't be upset at that. As expected were now on the wrong side of Squad Depth. Greaves and Davis our best players. Sounded like Burns' injury and subsequent substitutions worked to help Liverpool Al-Hamadi against Gakpo. Yet, I think enough there to be happy about. Get through next Saturday and the season begins properly.
