Maybe but he needs to be able to run first. Club did class to get the money for him. Southampton medical team had a shocker.
I imagine they wouldn't have taken a punt on him had they not just sold £100m+ worth of talent. Signing him was a free hit really (from a financial point of view)
Love Roscoe but i would be incredibly sceptical about bringing him back, firstly because of his injuries would leave us massively at risk of again relying on youth, and secondly a player going back for a second stint rarely works out for us from memory.
This whole ongoing striker search is pretty poor, when will we actually learn? In terms of Clarke, i do not think he will be going anywhere unless a player from an interested club leaves or gets a long term injury with the money we are asking for leads to me think he will stay Ross Stewart will be an awful signing by the way, due to the simple fact he has not played and will be a waste of money
It's healthy to have all this speculation and supposition but let's not fall into the trap of repeating it until people believe it's the truth! At this moment all we really know is we have tried to sign a striker and we await a decision from his club. Have we moved on, truth is no one knows. Is it frustrating? Most definitely yes! Do we need a striker/focal point, in my opinion yes. Are all previous signings a disaster, only time will tell but my guess is that some will succeed and some will fail. I think average hit rate is about 1 in 4 are a success so hope we are higher than average. Rant Owa for today lol
To get his playing career back on track I imagine he would. Season long loan with a January recall option might well suit Southampton. Wether that's to us is a different question.
Another good player leaving the league and another club bringing in a huge fee, not like they needed it with the parachute payments mind.
He wouldn’t be the same Ross Stewart that he was before Fulham, I think his career is done all truth be told.
Multiple things: Firstly he knows the club well, will know the staff and many of the players, has already succeeded here and knows what it takes to be a success. There would be no bedding in time. His fitness is one of the things to look into, and the physios would need to feel like they can manage him successfully. He was on £4k and now he's on £20k, we could negotiate the percentage we cover down. One of the things to look into. If we sign Mendy or someone else, there are no guarantees they get the goals, might be another Rusyn. With Ross we know what we are getting. Also insert loan cancel clauses if he is injured again when the window opens, like you saw with Embo at Derby. This could be a very good transfer if everything aligns.
‘RLB has told us multiple times what he thinks, but here’s why he believes the complete opposite’. I hope next time the boring old fart asks the same question in a press conference he gets told to **** off.
His fitness is vital, especially with the type of striker we need. We basically need him to be as effective as he was previously. Constantly pressing and harassing defenders, always on the move dragging defenders out of position, and being a handful in the air. With the type of injury he sustained and how serious it was, I doubt he’ll be as effective as he was.
