Steely Dan what can you say, I have bought the Cant buy a Thrill albulm 3 times ,as mates have either helped themselves or I have given it away under the influence, All the tracks are great on this albulm imo but this one was a hidden favourite of mine from the off. This is a version from a tribute band and they are not bad.
Can't believe I haven't posted this, it's absolutely brilliant imo. It's so different to anything else I've heard and so intensely performed. At the end, there's a three part harmony that's so good it's difficult to imagine how anyone could dream it up.
Yes, great photos and incredible music. You may not like the music, of this next song, as it's overtly religious but you may like the images ... ... we play it on Sunday mornings as a kind of spiritual moment. We went to see the singer, Iris de Ment, at the Usher Hall Edinburgh recently, lovely woman. Whatever the case the photographs make you realise how poor people were then.
Were you at this one Smug seriously this is the nearest I get to religion.. Lindy Lou was my one of my first records a 78 by this bloke and I have never forgotten it.
Brilliant mate My Dad was a coal face hewer and it makes me think back to how we'd get a clip if we made a noise when he'd come off a night shift. We'd go down the woods to play so he could sleep and get ready to back again the next day.
This has put me in mind of this song, lots of Durham miners had pigeon lofts and spent their free time with them. The two girls on the left are Becky and Rachael who I'm pleased to say are friends of ours. This is a lovely song which they dedicated to my son and fiancée, in York Minster, where we took them to celebrate their engagement. Wonderful NE girls who've been great to me and Mrs Smug.
