We don't know what goes on behind the scenes - pointless jumping to conclusions to reinforce a preconceived idea.

    Suppose.

Let's move on to the fact that we were assured of, nay promised, a literal crescendo of transfer activity in August.

Klopp said this in 2016 when asked if he had the final say on transfers - "Yes. It's how I am used to work. If I don't want a player to come to the club, he will not come. It's normal."

You're late to the party. Bisc has already confirmed it. Although we still haven't heard from Dribs.

Pretty much what I said in my post. However, Klopp couldn't say he wanted a player and sign him, he still needed the others to agree too. Ie, nothing could happen WITHOUT Klopp's agreement but nor Klopp do anything WITHOUT the others agreeing too

I think the only factor that stopped Klopp signing a player he wanted was money, not eg a data analyst telling him no. Anyway, fact remains Klopp had the final say. :p

A veto is not the final say.

What klopp had was the last word.

He put a few players out to dry that were bought by the club. minamino, carvalho and probably a couple others.

Not that many but there were some "value buys" I'd say he didn't push back on but didn't bother to make work in the slightest.

Right now a new power dynamic is emerging at lfc.

Only time will tell of its a pivot away from the grand plan.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of blood letting par se. You can always have too many players, too many hopefuls blocking the chances of others and a reset is not harm.

Klopp did after all come in and cull a large number of underage players as one of this opening plays at the club.

Right now we are waiting to see what the final picture after August looks like.

Culling Williams, koumetio, van den berg and phillips would be of not harm to thr club and probably gives everyone of them at least one last chance to make it for example. It also opens a window for a player like nallo or pinnington or the wolves lad we were meant to be looking at to step into.

If the scalpel is out then the question has to be what green shoots emerge behind it.

As much as all other members off the transfer committee.

And in the exact same way Rodgers did, only difference being is Brod compromised whereas Klopp wouldn't (and rightly so)

If there are six people on the transfer committee and they all have to be in agreement before a signing is made then they ALL, theoretically, have the final say. If five said yes and Klopp is the only left to vote, he has the absolute definition of the final say. If Klopp had already said yes and forms part of that five, then someone else has that 'absolute' final say. Klopp still theoretically had the final say because we wouldn't have signed them had he said no. Same goes for the other five members. It's really not that complicated.

There was an article released a few years ago explaining how it worked, around the same time or scouting network and computer analysis approach was explained too. Nothings changed bar personnel.

I'm not going to go any further on this other than to restate what Klopp himself said when asked "do you have the final say on transfers?" "Yes" was his answer. "That's how I work".

You really don't need any more information or speculation other than the man's own words.
