Anyone seeing the WhatsApp messages circulating regarding future plans for the SOL Looks like we've got permission to launch
Back of South Stand being rebuilt for corporate, could loose a few rows off the back... The premier concourse continued through East stand. Seems rebuild due to lack of corporate facilities has prevented us getting better games and concerts.
Pity, I was hoping for an East Stand extension. My young lady would probably make a comment about any sort of extension . An improvement to the corporate facilities would be more than welcome. Edit Ignore this post, I clearly didn't read what @blonde bombshell had actually posted. D'oh
Am I being thick here but the premier concourse is opposite the east stand? Or do you mean following on round from the north stand as an extension?
I was told ages ago the plans were too extended up and to have the lower tier movable in order to make it faster getting concerts set up and dismantled. Making it possible to use it for concerts mid season. Spurs were mentioned as having a similar set up. https://arx.co.uk/projects/retractable-seating-for-multi-use-stadia-2/
Aye Why didn't I read the full post, only the part about corporate etc. In East stand registered D'oh
Remember Peter Reid saying similar when we extended the North Stand. We had 2 consecutive 7th place finishes if we had signed someone to play up top with Super Kev who knows where we could have went. That being said a year or so later he blew a wad on Tore Andre Flo so maybe the North stand extension was the better choice.
I also remember a rumour that we opted for Tore Andre Flo over a relatively unknown Swedish striker at the time named Zlatan Imbrahimovic. I've no idea how true that is but it makes me shudder just thinking about it.
Not exactly right, in my understanding we were interested in Zlatan and wanted him to come over for a trial when he was at Malmo. Zlatan being Zlatan said no, he did the same when Arsenal wanted him to come over for a trial. His attitude was if your be seen me play, what are you going to learn in a trial? We tried to sign him later, but couldn't agree a fee with Ajax, so went for Flo instead. The rest is disappointing history. Just our luck, really. Back in the early 80s we tried to sign an up and coming Danish midfielder/forward, but couldn't get a work permit for him due to his age, him being under 18. Michael Laudrup. Shortly after that he was signed by Juventus...
That makes me somewhat calmer about that whole situation. I had a scene in my head of someone sat in an office going heads we sign Flo tails we sign Zlatan.
