When we sold Maddison for £23 & Buendia £38m that balanced the books & gave us breathing room. Sara £20m Idah £9.5m Rowe looks like he's off too . If we sell Sargent then we have no strikers other than unfit 35 year old Barnes . The baseball guy is certainly not risking his own investment & making sure he gets a good yield . Only played Oxford & Stevenage & let in 5 goals . No signs of buying a decent defender . Strange times

A French newspaper reported some time ago that Yildirim was on his way to England for a medical, but with no details of seems. But it has also been reported that he could be in City's squad for Saturday.
Connor Southwell was claiming "Exclusive" status for his Pink'Un article about our interest in Yildirim. That suggests to me he knows more than he's able to let on. Also Rennes have reportedly agreed a fee with MLS side Real Salt Lake to sign 21-year old Colombian striker Andres Gomez.

I see Yildirim, if he signs, as a replacement for Idah, not Sargent. Like Forson, he appears to display the urgency and energy that Thorup is looking for, and he's said to excel when it comes to pressing and ball recovery in advanced areas. He's tall and powerfully-built, and it sounds as if he exploits that in ways one wished Idah would but seldom did. Imagine Ashley Barnes with pace .......... His height would certainly be an asset. He can also play in a wider position either side. His senior scoring record isn't currently great, but he got two goals in three appearances for the Turkey national side in 2023. We have goal scorers (now including Onel ) and Yildirim seems the sort of player who would create chances for others. In contrast to CitySlicker, I'm quite excited, and I hope he signs.
