No complaints at all for me. Those full backs will be very defensive mind.

Preston have only made 3 changes so are more or less full strength. Great opportunity for these lads to impress

 

I guess it's going to be another 2-1 to the lads.

 

A chance for these lads to stake a claim for a starting spot on Saturday.

Ba, Aouchiche and Mundle must create chances for Rusyn with Rigg and Ekwah holding the midfield ...

... if we don't score at least two goals we're not the squad I think we are.

 

Christ. That defence is giving me the shivers.

That's said, I am not too arsed about the cups. Just want some of these fringe players to impress.

 

Is Johnson more of a full back than centre half or just ‘doing a job’? Was under the impression he was a big centre half

I've been very disappointed with Ba recently. Has ability but too often turns back or looks for the foul. However, tonight is a great chance for him and Aouchiche. Also happy to see Mayenda up there's again. I think he had four shots on Saturday. When Burstow was here he didn't have four shots in ten games.

 

Mayendas not in the squad I don’t think, sure it’s Rusyn up top? Agree on Ba but when he’s going direct and on it he takes some stopping once he improves his final ball he’ll be some player, I often forget just how young he is

The defence looks awful. Four centre backs. We saw on Saturday the full backs pushing up is a key part of the system but that will certainly not be Johnson or Anderson's game. Shame Bainbridge has been loaned as he looks like he suits RLB's system.

Hjelde looked good in pre season and Triantis we haven't seen since last year. Joe Anderson and Zak Johnson, have a feeling they're not a million miles away.

 

Minutes in the legs and a chance to see how they fair against championship opposition, I’m half looking at tonight as if it’s another pre season friendly tbh

 

Dear me, I saw Mundle and thought it was Mayenda. Deffo need knew glasses. Big fan of Mundle's though.

I think you're bang on there. Against Bradford I thought only Mundle took his chance. Let's hope we see more from Ba, Aouchiche and Rusyn. I don't mind a weakened team and think it makes sense. Just wish he'd played Mayenda

 

I disagree. But I hope to be proved wrong tonight.

 

I know he hasn't really got much choice tonight, but I think, RLB really likes Johnson. Wouldn't be surprised if he sticks around until Jan.

Hoyed him straight in, in pre-season, and was preferred for the bench last weekend.
