Duncan Mcguire is a new ST name mentioned from the MLS. No idea who he is but, his name has appeared this morning...
Hopefully we get a couple in today which would be nice especially as on Friday Acun said we would get one tomorrow and one the next day which would have been sat and sun then the next day and everyday after that so maybe we will get 3 today and another 19 by the end of the window so we will have loads to choose from .
He was interesting Blackburn in January but the deal fell through. Just played for the USA in the Olympics apparently.
Realistically, how many more do we expect? Appreciate it depends on who leaves. Are we thinking Giles, Oscar, Seri and Macca to go. Probably means 1 or 2 CB. 3x forwards, Probably a CM and the holy grail that is a LB (for the 3rd year) and some wingers. **** it, let's get another keeper too.
I think we get: CB CDM - Zambrano CM 2 wingers 2 strikers Thats assuming only Seri leaves from those mentioned. Although I’m not sure if we’d get another CB if Sean goes
Something is not right with Giles. Tan's comments about him are only said if he thinks Giles isn't giving 100%. Absolutely bizarre goings on for someone we just paid £4m for. If he's sulking because he wanted to go to Boro he shouldn't have signed the loan deal back in January. Will be interesting to see what happens before deadline day..
Ah yes, thought I recognised the name. Yes, that caused a bit of a furore, on top of a similar issue in the previous window, which eventually led to the DOF and another member of the senior management departing.
Not for the first time (messing up the paperwork). Think the second bit is unlikely bearing in mind the subsequent departures at senior management levels.
No insight into who we're looking at but this is a fairly glowing assessment of McGuire. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/du...oster-decision-look-smart/blt38279a0ddbccd5d4 "McGuire has been one of the best strikers in MLS for some time now, a bonafide goalscoring talent who puts in enough legwork to give opposing center backs nightmares for 90 minutes. He is industrious, strong, and clinical at all of the right moments."
Sounds good but not sure if we are looking at him or have probably just Journo for clicks, maybe one of the other guys ST,M88evn or HT2 can tell us if we have.
I don’t think he’s happy being played out position. He also won’t like being dropped for Jacob last year and seemingly behind him in the pecking order again this year
I see Carvalho is off to Brentford for a fair few quid. Would imagine a cheeky loan bid for KLP would totally be out the question given his wages and the player’s desire to play Premiership football.
They play different positions (at least preferentially), Carvalho is more of a 10 than a winger as we saw.
Yes, Carvalho is Deffo a 10..wishful thinking on my part. You gotta wonder how happy Keano is though sat on his backside most weeks mind when he could play every week elsewhere.
On reflection, following Saturday. Get a couple or trio in before the window closes and we'll be okay in that a relegation tussle will not be nailed on, though a top 6 finish will be a hard ask...Still early days and other clubs are hardly breaking the bank for talent, this FFP malarkey is really taking effect. More than I imagined.
