Is what it is ... hopefully a couple of more incoming will help ... seem to be lacking creativity and a goal threat for sure ... the possession and relative goal attempts from yesterday's stats must surely have set alarm bells ringing ...
On the current showing in pre season it all looks a bit of a shambles with several players seen to argue with each other when something goes wrong. I am personally not looking forward to being mashed by the spuds next week (I really hope I'm wrong).
Weirdly I can't think of a season that I have not looked forward to until now , whatever division it has been in. It all seems a bit flat atm, what with our very limited budget, losing our best player, points deduction looming............I could go on but I'm getting even more depressed. Still, onwards and upwards, COYB
Reading too much into pre-season, either way, can be misleading... ... that said, I hope Cooper has a best XI and a plan in mind ... there are some very good players in the squad and also amazing potential ... but something ain't clicking and needs go be fixed pretty quickly...
Given the Daka injury and Cooper's reluctance to bring Cannon on for him when he got injured against Lens, I suspect we could see loan deals agreed for both Wilf Zaha and David Datro Fofana this week ...
We need to be more like Mr Micawber - something will turn up. Hopefully in the shape of a goalscorer. Trouble is, it takes time to bed into a team, and time isn't on our side at the moment.
If they pull this one off then count me in as a believer. Not saying it beats turning water into wine, but it's bloody close!
Harry Souttar given captain's armband for his Sheff United debut last night and puts in a performance that was close to getting him MOTM ... Bloke has never really been given a chance with us and given how poor our defence has been in pre-season, it's baffling ...
Being reported that we have tabled a £4 million bid for Jordan Ayew - at that price OK not too bad in terms of 'deeper squad' ... but ain't gonna get the fans queueing..
Agreed. Any player who has actually been in an opponent's penalty area is welcome at the moment. Hope we don't put him on a huge wage.
Hi all, it seems I'm still alive, so may as well have another go at the prediction league! Whether I make it 'til the end of the season or not, let's hope for some better Foxes results than last time (however unlikely!)
I'm more concerned that Szmodics has gone to Ipswich for £8m plus add-ons. Weren't we very interested in him as the answer to our attacking midfielder problems at the end of last season?
I've been banging in that we should sign him on the General Prem board since the last game of the season - with all dye respect, suspect he would have chosen us in preference to Ipswich if we had made an offer - and him versus Jordan Ayew? ... ffs
