To be fair he is about 6’4 he’s never going to be as quick on the ball as a much smaller player with a lower centre of gravity
Really rate jobe, and for me it's not his speed on the ball as in moving with it or acceleration it's he hangs on to it too long, however I believe RLB will change that
I said he's pretty good in the air, which is factually correct. He's defensively competent, wins a lot of his tackles and duels plus has good interception and ball recovery numbers. I'm not saying he's the perfect player, he's not even close, but at some point he has to get the plaudits he deserves instead of these weird conspiracy theories hanging over his head.
Bang on. Shambolic he stayed on the pitch beyond half time in some games. Let’s see how he performs tomorrow as he starts the game - not a single doubt about it. Rigg is the better player but doesn't feature half as much.
A few years ago Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford were in league two and look where they are compared to us, we turn up but the owners don't Wrexham next i bet, and we will still be saying they need to buy a striker ! and Had we signed this player or that player things would be different well they sold Stewart.
…and I’m not saying the lad isn’t a prospect just he needed taking out the firing line multiple times last year for his own and the teams good. He clearly has favour amongst the club coaching staff and hierarchy that isn’t performance related. Hardly weird conspiracies, how do you think we tempted him here in the first place?
I’m usually totally wrong on these things, but I think we’ll see a different Mayenda to the one we saw last season. Last season I always thought we were so slow in getting the ball forward which allows their defenders to get into position to easily nullify our attack. If RLB plays a fast pressing game, this could provide better opportunities for Mayenda. He’s shown he can finish in friendly games and once he gets a couple, it should do his confidence the world of good. Still want to see another striker to help take the burden away from the young lad though.
Hope you’re right here, Mayenda has all the attributes but not convinced he’s quite put it all together yet if that makes sense. Still seems to snatch at shots rather than place them. Let’s see if he bags tomorrow and grows from there.
By offering him a platform to grow and develop as a player plus he'll be on more money than he was at Birmingham, so the same reasons many players move clubs.
Sounds like Mendy is staying at Caen Terrible translation but Furthermore, Stade Malherbe Caen wants to keep its striker Alexandre Mendy. File very poorly managed by Olivier Pickeu. By the way, if the sale took so long, the latter is responsible for it. We will see that but the Player is unhappy from what I know...however, things are going very well with the new shareholders
Looks like Mendy isn't happening based on the journalist who originally broke it. Says Sunderland's offer is "ridiculous" and he's "not a packet of crisps" "The new shareholders have to deal with Pickeu's poor management of this issue... things have been said and we know the rest. After the Sunderland offer is ridiculous… Mendy is not a packet of crisps from LIDL eh"
Might just be a play to get more money, the player wants away and if they can't square that soon they risk having an unhappy player who feels wronged by the club.
