My sister went to a bbq with her a few years ago and Geri et al. Didn’t shag her, but wasn’t very impressed.
On reflection I’m quite surprised by that. Admittedly I don’t go in the city centre much, but does anyone really think there’ll be more rioting there? The protest on Saturday, whether you agreed with it or not, was attended by a mixture of people (I’ll leave it there to hopefully remain apolitical) The rioting seemed (based on who is being convicted across the country) to be mostly petty criminals, people who have a history of criminality and alcoholics. The same people who will get arrested at some point or other, plus a few youngsters who got carried away and decided they wanted some fake crocs… I suppose maybe there are more interesting arrests to come, and of course some of the people (not all) behind the protests will have been delighted there were riots, and clearly the Police will have access to info we don’t have, but as it stands I assumed it had all just fizzled out? Even if you added up all the protesters, not just the rioters, across the country it’s a tiny number and hardly a huge threat to society I don’t think. It might be a sign of unrest with politics etc, or it might not be, but either way I would have thought the media coverage of sentencing would significantly minimise the likelihood of others getting carried away and doing similar…and the rest of them would have probably got arrested for something else soon enough anyway. Specific risk to Zeb Yard! ****ing up gigs?! That’s going too far!
'Peggy' the world's most famous dog, and star of a current Hollywood blockbuster, is making a personal appearanace at 'Oh My Dog' on Dyer Lane, Beverley this Saturday from 2,00pm onwards. At the time of posting this event is in no, repeat no, danger of being cancelled because of the threat of rioting. She is signing pawnagraphs, careful, and all, if any proceeds, will be shared amongst local dog rescue charities.
There was no reason given for the Callum Scott gig being cancelled and all the other events this weekend are going ahead, so I doubt it was anything to do with potential 'unrest'...
Peggy is actually a Police Dog and is being strategically placed in Beverley in a covert operation to deter any thuggery
I can see no mention of the world famous dog in the HDM appearing on Saturday, yet when I clicked on the Hull KR section, there was loads of articles about Rugby League. Typical.
It could be said that this week's unrest was kick started by a lack of information which led to people on social media making it up. Why can't they just say something rather than "due to circumstances beyond our control"
There are lots of articles about KR and FC on the main news page. But none about the world famous dog on the KR and FC pages.
Looking forward to seeing Ocean Colour Scene, Cast and Embrace today. I've been to gig at Zebedees Yard. Anyway been?
'kinell, i just read that and thought I'd woken up today in my mid-20s (checks energy levels, unfortunately not..) ... Impressed they're all still going, I guess music taste is cyclical and they're popular enough now to get the nostalgia ticket sales. I remember coming back to Hull with my future first wife to meet up with friends and to see OCS play at the Blue Lamp club in 1995, I think. Enjoy!
I've seen Ocean Colour Scene a few times(they played Glasgow Kelvingrove Bandstand last week),always a good night
Several times OSC, Stranglers with Big Country, Primal Scream, Echo & the Bunnymen and others For local bands Bunkerpop were superb there. Great venue I think Plenty of food and drink options near and they usually have stall inside the yard too Only issue ever there is weather tbh, otherwise it’s a cracking venue
****ing dinosaurs running amok in the City centre again… Well done to Hull BiD. They’re arranging some great stuff this year
Cast I've seen before at Hull uni and always it was great. I didn't see much of Embrace because I was queuing for the bar. It was ridiculous and so unorganised. Ocean Colour Scene where brilliant. Steve Cradock really is exceptional as a guitar player.
