RTB you havent lost the knack. Great to have these back.

Prediciting the first few games is like doing the lottery. A lottery <laugh>. I will settle for seeing my favourites pull the strip on, a high graft performance and signs we have thrown off the negative mentality of last seasons end. If we play front foot football we will do ok in the end.

My only prediction, I will nod off on my sun lounger afterwards, having drank cocktails of some sort throughout. I am surrounded by Germans who are footy daft, great times, and may invite them to gather round my mobile if we are romping home.:1980_boogie_down:

I’ve predicted a defeat as I’m concerned, with Ballard out, with our lack of physicality and aerial ability against a team that are strong on set pieces.

I take some reassurance from the fact that Cardiff are, to an extent, seemingly a team in transition as Bulut is trying to implement a new style which is based around playing out from the back. I thought our press looked decent in the main against Marseille and could have some success against a set of players still trying to fine tune and get used to a new way of playing.

He's right we never lacked consistency with those three. Slight problem was that with Catts and O'Shea we were consistently ****e <laugh>

Never ever overly confident for 1st game of the season, what i would say tho is im excited to see how we play. I've enjoyed watching us develop over preseason so hoping for further improvements in this game.

Id take a point, never easy starting away from home and its important to get a point on the board early on

A few have mentioned it but really worried about how we defend set pieces against Cardiff. They were class from set pieces last season and its def a biggest weaknesses of ours

We will cause them problem with our press n pace in the forward area

Be buzzing if Mayenda scores, we know how desperate we are for a striker but id love him to start the season with a goal as itll give him a huge boost

Going 1-1 with Jobe scoring for us

If you are facing the sea turn right and walk along past the harbour until you come to the main road on your right. There’s a hotel straight across the road with a high wall, pubs to the left show the Sunderland games. At least they did when Wimbledon relegated us :steam::steam:<wah><wah><wah>

Great to see the match thread back, thank you @RTB

I hope we smash these off the park, I think our high press will make then panic.
