Great to have real Football back and our top threadsters thread <applause> . I am not going to add my twopence on any team selection for a week or two , although something seems to have inspired our Patrick last time out, it would be remiss off me to take any credit, but Jobe I am watching you. <laugh> OaU

Thanks RTB it's great to see your match day thread back, it seems to have been a super long close season.

I think an away point to open our account would be a decent start but of course 3 points would be well received

Safe travels to all our bravehearts, show RLB what our away support is all about. Mayenda to open his account and a 1-1 hard fought point to bring back to the SOL...HTL

A massive welcome return of the RTB match thread. Thanks mate for all the good work you do.

Tricky opener, but it normally takes 10 games for the league to sort itself out, so I'm hoping we click quicker than they do.

The high press will be crucial, as will avoiding giving away unnecessary corners and free kicks. I've gone for a draw, but it's good to see that we have won the last 2 down there. I'd be delighted for a repeat of that.

Good to see these again RTB, time to strap into the roller coaster for another season, hard to call with this one as I haven't seen enough in pre season to make a decision, just hope we don't get beat first game, I will take a point but 3 would be a great start and hopefully a good performance. Here's hoping, HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY

Davies and Etete (strikers) and Collins (full back) out for a couple of months. To be honest I don’t think they would have started on Saturday.
I think the team that will kick off will be much the same as that which finished last season with the addition of Willock.
We’ve also got a few new signings who look but I can’t see them starting for a couple of weeks at least.

Thanks, I’d read you were a bit decimated but I think they were probably including the likes of Kanga and Chambers etc not being ready to start yet in that.

What a relief to see this pop up RTB, its been a long summer and Ive missed your match day threads. As always top quality.
Cant wait for the season ahead as always but disappointed we go into another season short up front, we have had more than enough time.
Anyway I am going 1-1 with Clarke curling one into the net to salvage a point. Happy New Season Everyone!

Cattermole and O'Shea wouldn't accept standards slipping? The same two who were part of the clubs double relegation? Give me a break.

We have lost Bailey Wright, Danny Batth, Cory Evans, Alec Pritchard, and Lynden Gooch, recently, all had to go no doubt, but we have really missed their leadership qualities pitchside, this young team need a bit of help in this regard and Browne is a step in the right direction, a couple more like him would transform this squad into genuine contender-ship for a top six finish imo.
