Am truly amazed at the number of people responding to that who seem to think that signing new players is as easy as clicking fingers.
Looks like we're not the only Championship club tightening their belts when it comes to buying players. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24499990.watfords-league-rivals-not-spending-big-summer/
It looks as if Hoedt may be staying. All the transfer talk has come from the Turkish media and this article gives the impression that Watford rejected four bids. http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-pull-watford-deal-open-transfer-talks-back-plan/
I guess not all fans will welcome that, given the number of reports saying that he wanted to leave. Some fans are so fickle.
Nani on SSN Transfer Show saying the cub don't need & don't want to sell Asprilla - not are they under any pressure to sell. I wonder if that last bit means he's happy to stay?
Looks as tho the club have taken our advise, a young popular Head coach with strong links but with two very, very experience coaches to guide him through his first season or two Such a pity they did not do that with Nunez
https://x.com/thewatfordway/status/...37470940193047¤tTweetUser=thewatfordway Presumably if he isn’t being sold or doesn’t need to be Asprilla will play Saturday? I suspect unfortunately it’s all a bit of a bluff to get more money as cannot see Asprilla staying tbh . Yes that was all silly talk with no real basis . Nothing in our media at all to suggest he was going .
Got 2 now with the guy from Real Madrid B. Hopefully they are head to help and not just ready to take over .
The Asprilla transfer situation is complicated by the fact that two different agents are in a legal dispute about which one represents him. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24502299.watfords-asprilla-centre-dispute-agents/
Lots of money involved here. 10% of €26M will make a dodgy agent, or two, dribble at the thought of it. Watford saying they don't need the money, so no one should offer any less. As for the player, he will be thinking that €1.2M a year, after tax, is rather better than his current contract is paying.
Not complicated - ludicrous. I've no idea how such a situation could arise - one of the two agents must surely be lying and/or guilty of trying to take advantage of a youngster with limited command of English? And involving the legal fraternity to establish which one is telling the truth will serve only take out another huge chunk of any money coming his way. He'd be better off refusing a transfer, staying put and playing for us right now - and telling both agents to sort things out themselves at their own expense over the course of the next season or two.
I do hope that making national news doesn't draw too much attention from clubs with money to spend. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c8493k1n0dzo
I think that it will put off clubs from signing Asprilla until the agent situation is sorted out. His parents also signed his initial contract with Synerjoy Soccer in 2021 so it could cause problems for them in Colombia if he has broken that contract.
Looks like Millwall have a few injury woes... https://www.londonworld.com/sport/f...bts-and-4-outs-of-championship-opener-4732812
Both of the new experienced coaches have always seemed to be the power behind the throne as opposed to be on the throne so I dont think that is the case, perhaps they dont want to be in the full glare of the media and are happier trying to avoid mistakes being made by the Head Coach
Asprilla not due back for training for at least another week regardless of any transfer due to his International duty over the summer.
Actually Cleverley said in his interview yesterday that he was now back at LC and getting his fitness back.
