we do need a striker but I will die on the hill that people are grossly underestimating this squad considering it was dodds and beale's negative tactics that caused a big downfall. You play an attacking style with some of the talent in this squad and you do well imo
I think we have some very good players but it means nowt without someone leading the line (in fact 2 given likely injuries and suspensions) that can suit of system of play. getting that player is key and if the club think Mendy is that man then if they are quibbling over a few quid which is delaying him arriving then they need to take a long hard look at themselves. it’s great having a plan and an approach to buying and selling players but at times that plan has to flex. IMO they are in danger of undoing a lot of the positive work they have done by being so rigid

People on twitter predictably missing the point on this one. Think we should have held out for a fee as he’ll never be sold for a fee at Blackpool. work that one out. If he’s worth a fee now then he may be worth a fee later. the fact is nobody will pay a fee now. The best chance we have of getting anything for him is a deal like this
No point keeping him either. Ruin his career and will cost money in wages until he can leave on a free. Nowhere near the standard required now.
Yep. Pretty sure his contract expires next summer. So we could keep him here and essentially further ruin his career before releasing him and never seeing a penny, or let him go somewhere else and retain a sell on fee should they sell him. It’s our best option.
