Pretty clear Acun is a big asset for the club that gives us an advantage other clubs don't have. His personal involvement has allowed us to make signings we otherwise wouldn't. The smooth talking son of a bitch needs to break out the jet and yacht to get this seasons signings done.
I can be a critic of him at times but he came across as a very honest individual today and I respect him making the effort to quash the rumours doing the rounds...Although there are some language barriers, his English is far better than my Turkish. Rumours posted on here that he was selling up were way wide of the mark and he's given a definitive answer.Obviously we're not ready for Saturday,he acknowledges that but assures us he'll have things in place by the end of the Month. I'll go along with that...
Norwich are sponsored by a local clothing firm, a bit like OLM sponsoring us so doubt it will compare with the multimillion valued company sponsoring us. WBA are sponsored by Ideal. Don’t think that will be massive. Sheffield Utd main sponsor is Randox, another not large concern. Burnley’s is 96.com, never heard of them. Leeds might be getting more from Red Bull than we do. But we don’t know. A bit of critical analysis, instead of assumptions and suppositions would have shown you that.
City had 2.6m commercial income in 2023, Norwich had 5.3m as one example. WBA had 6.2m as another. How's that for critical analysis? Clearly we've improved, but my suggestion was that Acun's comment that the "PL and relegated clubs" have more than us may be including recently relegated clubs. I'm surprised we've got more income than Stoke for example but I'll take his word for it.
Sounds like a lot of made up **** can be put to bed now. Hopefully 'Big Bad Acun' can just go back to being 'Acun' and it looks like it'll turn out that 2+2 does in fact equal 4.
The way people talk and act at those events astounds me, some absolute fart talking about the Hughes release clause like what he says is the gospel truth. You know absolutely nothing so act appropriately, can refer to something you’ve heard but people think they are on his level of understanding and he owes them the world? The bloke has spent money on the squad and taken us forward so trust him to do it again. i can understand distrust in owners but christ our fanbase is so entitled sometimes, if we are spending 5m on a centre half that’s a wild jump from not having the cash to pay Marriot.
We'll just have to and see if we get the players in. He's promised 3 are coming this week. So we'll just have to wait. But, we do need to take it with a pinch of salt though as this has been promised all summer. This was to plum
Considering Acun himself has basically said that the recruitment this summer has been subpar I don't exactly think the people who were being critical have been proven wrong. Sounds like Acun agrees with us. The fact he's taking a hands on role in recruitment is telling.
Obviously we'd be mad to let Oscar go without securing replacements but, given that we do, I wouldn't be unhappy to see him go. I don't think he offers enough, either in terms of goals or contributions to the team. Hopefully though, he just sets the Championship alight and makes me look like a complete knaa nowt.
Norwich lost their main sponsor and have a local clothing company now. You mentioned Luton as a recently relegated club. Do you think their income will be higher than ours this season? WBA’s will have come down. As you don’t know our figures more assumptions, not facts, on your part.
Must admit that Q&A was excellent. Helped in the most part by some fantastic questions. I think Acun saying he would rather ‘sacrifice’ 3 games and get an excellent team to be preferential to getting a mediocre team from the outset explains everything this window. You could tell he also enjoys the thrill of the last few days of the window. High pressure time when diamonds are found. I think this might also explain the hard hustle on transfer amounts being paid (Hughes). He’d rather backload it so he can go and get ‘another Philogene’. My only concern is that we really bomb in the first few games and players who would consider us as an option, think again.
****ing hell, Acun was the one who said our income is second only to the recently relegated clubs. I listed them then said maybe WBA and Norwich. I then pulled out their accounts to show what their commercial revenue was in the last reported period, rather than doing what you did and saying "I've never heard of that sponsor they must be bobbins". Desperate to start an argument you are.
Really makes me cringe hearing people call him Ackun to his face. How can they not pick it up when his name has been pronounced correctly dozens of times whilst they've been sat there?
