Good Morning. It's Tuesday 6th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Serie A trio chasing Gnonto Wilfried Gnonto is attracting interest from Serie A clubs Parma, Genoa, and Venezia, according to reports from Italy. There is a loan-to-buy option being considered. Despite this, Leeds will not rush to let the 20-year-old leave the club as he still has three years left on his contract. Additionally, there is a suggested 30%-40% sell-on clause payable to Zurich upon any future sale, making it not worth their while to sell him. According to YEP journalist Graham Smyth, Leeds have already rejected a £23 million offer this Summer. If it weren't for the release clause, he would likely have been sold by now considering what they accepted for Summerville! please log in to view this image Leeds may have to double bid to land Norwich ace Leeds have reportedly made an opening bid of £7 million for Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe according to multiple back-page reports The Whites see him as a replacement for Crysencio Summerville. Rowe, an England U21 winger with two caps, had a successful breakthrough season at Carrow Road last time, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists in 32 appearances (2,053 mins). He has been praised for his pace, dribbling ability, final third movement, and versatility. However, there are concerns about his injury history and potential ego issues. The Canaries are thought to be holding out for a higher fee, with some sources suggesting a deal could be done at around £15 million, the same amount they received for their Talisman Gabriel Sara. While Rowe has a lot of potential, Leeds need someone who can make an immediate impact to avoid another season in the Championship. please log in to view this image Bueno move now unlikely Leeds may lose out on Wolves defender Hugo Bueno, as they have made it clear that they are unwilling to let the Spanish U21 International leave Molineux until they have a replacement in place! Currently, the Whites only have three (senior) full-backs in their roster, and are in desperate need of cover, and competition for places. Bueno can play anywhere across the back-line, which very much appeals to Daniel Farke, even though you'd imagine that Max Wober would be higher up in the pecking order! The exciting 21yo left-back has attracted attention from a host of European clubs including Feyenoord after Wolves revealed that their starlet is available on a season long loan, without an option to make the deal permanent. It has been suggested that Bueno would prefer a move to Scottish Champions Celtic, due to the lure of European football. please log in to view this image
Morning all Regarding Bueno, I also read Wolves will only let him go to a team that offers him guaranteed first team football, with Firpo cemented into place they’re unlikely to allow him to leave. We want the Palace player on loan or Rowe, Norwich are not desperate for cash after selling Sara so I can’t see a compromise being made on his price
Morning all. Back home after a lovely month in Spain in time for the real football to begin. Isn’t Rowe in the last year of his contract?
Afternoon all, If Wolves are asking for guaranteed starts for their player then that's the end of the discussion for me. Any player coming in must play for their position. Imagine if you were in the position as Bueno and despite playing well and training hard couldn't get in the side because of a loan agreement? Not good for squad harmony
Perhaps the club are looking for kudos, refusing a £23m bid for Gnonto. In reality, it makes them look even more foolish for accepting £26m (plus add ons) for Summerville
Absolutely. I think if Leeds fans were asked which they'd prefer to keep, the vast vast majority would be Summerville
Doesn’t really matter anymore, he’s gone, if Gnonto stays then we need a big season from him. Do you think think because we may be in for Rowe it’s because Willy is on his way out, let’s face it, he is the natural replacement for Summerville.
The release of McGurk really baffled me last season. He could easily have stepped up to be a decent option off the bench if we failed to go up and lost a couple of wingers. Really strange decision that one.
I like Gnonto as a footballer - but Jimmy has more natural attributes though in my view. I think Gnonto has a decent footballing brain on him and is mature for his years. Jimmy just needs better decision making - which may or may not happen with good coaching - but he has the higher potential ceiling in my view.
Summerville has one thing to his game, he became very predictable and was non effective for the last dozen or so games.
He wont get the same defenders in the prem and most will know to keep him from cutting in and getting a right foot shot off. Just keep him running at the bye line as he isn’t great crossing. Predictable……. But maybe he will learn, but who cares now
