Watching the post match interview with Nathan Jones, you can clearly hear the frustration in his voice. We have got more deadwood than a bonfire pyre, and we can’t shift it. @TC (Lovely Geezer) I noticed a pic of Steve Gallen at your game yesterday. You are absolutely fvcked with this guy in charge Gallen couldn’t spot the difference between Harry Kane and Harry Corbett. We are stuck with dross like Aneke & Fraser because if him.
He's not shopping in poundland anymore. He's managed to bring in 2 very decent keepers, he got Tanganga and Langstaff through the door - both wanted by other Championship teams. Not a bad start if you ask me.
He's also managed to get some money for some of our dross that would never have played for us - Alex Mitchell for example.
Steve Gallen is about as much use as a one legged man in a bum kicking contest. He lives not far from me (I assume he located during his days at QPR), I took advantage of seeing him on the train to have a chat with him. A nice enough bloke who’d I’d imagine talks a good game to those upstairs, when I asked him about his signings with us he ruefully confessed that some had not worked out.
I actually wasted time checking this It’s a Bank Holiday in Scotland only today. Knowing the legendary frugality of @The Penguin I would imagine he has driven 400 miles up there overnight, just to take advantage of it.
When you look at the Charlton owners during Gallen's time there, Duchatelet, ESI and Sandgaard, you could argue he did quite well given the circumstances Dobson, May, CBT, Lockyer, Williams, Pratley, Purrington, Gallagher, Cullen - these are all better than what you have currently.
Do you really want me to list some of the absolute dross that he brought in? The trouble is I haven’t got a spare three hours. BTW TC I think we have had Millwall’s pants down on what we paid you for Mitchell. He has been excellent for us in pre-Season. Thanks a lot.
I'm sure Mitchell will do very well - by all accounts he is a no nonsense defender that is probably playing to his level. We have 7 players ahead of him, so can understand why he was sold after 4 loan spells in the lower leagues.
He had an excellent spell on loan to Lincoln. Who conceded the least amount of goals in League one. I was really surprised to see you signed Shaun Hutchinson who seems a crock.
MFC stayed up by the skin of their teeth last season , after the Board panicked in the face of death threats and replaced Young Joe with Chopper Harris - the same “saviour” the fanbase had hounded out two years before. MFC are nailed on bottom 4 this season - and Harris will be gone by Xmas.
When the saviour came back, we were all but down - then we won 8 of the13 games he oversaw - he's a miracle worker. Nathan Jones worked his own miracle for Charlton by winning 4 of the 18 games he managed. I know which one I'd prefer
Yes - apparently their keeper was the best in the league by a country mile - thanks to Steve Gallen, he now plays for us
