Says you. Apparently I'm a terrorist sympathiser because I said we shouldn't jump the gun on Muslims stabbing those bairns.

And now you've got an excuse to berate the Asians, at last. Thousands of right wing thugs destroying town centres, attacking people of colour. The Asians come out to defend themselves and now you've got your excuse. Bet you'll be chuffed to bits tonight.

All I’m saying is imagine you aren’t white, you’ve watched these scenes all week and now you know it’s your turn.

I wouldn’t go out with a knife but I’d probably have something close to hand.

They absolutely have a right to defend themselves.

I live in Shields there’s a whole load of Asian business owners and the town is quite well known for that.

Not a pick of bother. Big event at Bents Park yesterday everyone on the drink, everyone aware of the ongoing issues, no reaction.

Since Covid the landscape has changed. People are far more aware of government lies and misinformation. This is a positive thing and was a major factor in the Tories being replaced by (an admittedly weak) Labour.

Now there’s protests and conversations to be had but singling out immigration, and far worse than that people and families who have been born and raised here, paid into the system and added to their communities is not it.

It is driving me crazy reading the politicians giving it ‘we will crack down hard’ on these people with still silence over what brought us hear and what they are going to do to start addressing that.

People who aren’t as intelligent will latch onto anything that excuses their failures. That will never change.

What CAN change is the information they are getting. You can change that whole narrative at source.

Problem is, that doesn’t happen and they continue to be lead by social media and ‘louder voices’ than their own.

There’s no stats and data that you can’t find online if you spend a bit of time. For every lie a politician may spin, there’s a government website somewhere with factual data behind the lie/spin.

This is exactly it. People are being given biased and misleading information constantly. One set of people choose to believe one set of misleading information and another set of people choose to believe another set of misleading information. And that drives people, who otherwise would have a lot in common, apart.

There was a subject discussed on here yesterday and two opposing viewpoints were given. The truth about it is far more complicated, far more nuanced. People would rather believe the simple lies (as long as they reinforce their point of view) than the complicated truth. Some of the viewpoints I see online, even on here, infuriate me to the point that I regularly vow never to come back (stayed off 7 months until the Mowbray sacking dragged me back).

I do believe the government could have made different statements, with no room for misinterpretation, that would have quelled a lot of this trouble.

Yep agreed mate...but - I think that the stabbing incident in Southport acted as a catalyst to a years of 'Illegal Immigrants' illegaly ariving in the UK (rather than the legal immigrants) .....this is what some of these thugs are claiming.

Violence is obviously wrong which ever way you look at it though....

The terrifying part mate is often it isn’t ’rather believe’, its knowingly ‘use as an excuse’ for their own failings.

That’s a hard truth that many simply don’t want to own up to.

I would never suggest ‘all are equal’. You can be bore less well off, intelligence isn’t equal for all, physicality likewise. Factor in mental health and damage done as a result of stuggle as a child and there’s a lot to factor in.

We are all capable of ‘doing the best we can’. If you have done that, and still struggle, like many have and do, then that is the core of this countries issues.

If you couldn’t be arsed and didn’t try, that’s different, and these are the easily lead, or more than that ‘easily converted’.

I repeat, a huge amount of them know what they are ‘fighting’ for is bullshit. It’s easier than looking inwards.

Taking your own responsibility is, has been and always will be the smartest route to a better life.

For sure mate it was, but trying to set fire to a hotel housing them?

That’s never right. Not in any scenario. Many illegals are fleeing their own countries in terror.

We first of all need to look closer to home at those who ‘could’ work and choose not to.

    I guarantee that’s a bigger drain.

It’s blocking the hotel window with a burning bin that got me, that’s premeditated and vicious.

It’s attempted murder mate, that’s how I’d be looking at that.

I do want to add, some of the very best staff I have ever had have come from broken homes and borderline poverty.

Probably my current best sales lad is as thick as mince but he’s an absolute diamond who wants to change his family history and support his Mam, who is an absolutely brilliant woman who has never given up and has supported 4 kids after being abandoned by the dad.

It’s down to the individual but the better support and opportunities we can bring to folk who are flailing we can not only water down the narrative we can change it.

Again, this needs the government to support initiatives for people in this situation.

Labour aren’t the party of the working class anymore though, and I’ll probably get called racist for saying this on this board but they could not give a ****e about your average working class white citizen and that’s why I didn’t vote this year. They’re going to cause an ever bigger division than we’re already seeing. I didn’t vote this time and probably won’t next time unless something changes drastically because they’re all a f*cking mess if I’m honest but I’d bet my bottom dollar Reform will gain **** loads of votes after Starmer is done. Pulled the wool over people’s eyes and were all going to see it all unfold very quickly unfortunately.

As a political calculation, Reform have made a big error tbh. You can see it from the furious spin today from Farage. The truth is that the VAST majority of voters have absolutely no tolerance for the violence that has been seen this weekend. Even Yaxley Lennon is desperately trying to walk back his involvement and connection - despite his alter ego being chanted at every single riot. Even the likes of Priti Patel is seeing which way the wind is blowing and couching herself as a zero-tolerance law and order candidate for Tory leadership. Can easily see the Tories using this as a way of cauterising the threat from their right flank from Reform by successfully tying them to the violent disorder. The difficulty for the Tories will be the isolated members of their rank and file who will get tarred too.

Hopefully will see many convictions over the coming weeks and months, the ones on social media will likely be getting a knock on the door too.

I'd be disappointed if there aren't a few 'attempted murder' charges tbf, that's what some attacks were.

The rioting mob would probably be the first to say immigrants don't attempt to integrate ...

... I wonder how easy it would be, for foreigners, to become part of their community <doh>

I, and I'd bet many of you, have had their first cohtacts with newcomers at work. We've learned to get along, socialise, play sports, have works do's, etc.

But if you're in your hateful drug fuelled benefit bubble, in your self made ghetto, you'll only mix with more like you who'll back up your opinions. And when the immigrants have shops, businesses, etc that pushes people over the edge.

    Crazy.

The real problem is knife crime which has been a developing problem in London and hasn’t been tackled head on. That has now spread around the country.

This is somehow being confused with it being immigrants.

The truth is because a disproportionate number of these people committing the offences are black men, the racists associate skin colour with immigrants and it’s gone off on a tangent with Asian men and Muslims taking the blame.

There’s Asians on the premier league board that have, for years, complained about BLM and asking why they’re getting all the attention when black people are committing the knife crime and yet Asians are still the people most likely to be abused by the racists.

I can totally see what they mean now.
