Been given an Amazon fire stick and was wondering if there are any afficienado's out there who could give any advice in regards to "maximising" it's potential, especially where football matches and other sport is involved :)

Just out of curiosity is it a new firestick, or has it had iptv app loaded onto it previously.
I only ask as if it's new you will need to allow third party apps, and it's not obvious how to do this. I can tell you how to do it...let me know if it's a new stick.

    I gave up on them.

Obv season ticket holder, I pay legit for Sky & TNT cos I love me sport.

Tried 3 or 4 of these, 1300 mbps broadband with no interference, still freeze constantly.

Can’t be arsed with having sport ruined.

Exactly the same here, films and pre recorded stuff was fine but PL football was about 90 seconds behind and our away matches were a shambles. 20 seconds of football then 20 seconds frozen and buffering

Even films were very hit and miss for me mate, so gave up.

Even if I got one that did work I’d still like pay for Sky and such cos it’s just a better experience. Kinda just wanted to grab a few of our away games.

Should work fine with a VPN.

If not then it’s a problem with your IPTV provider or your internet.

Tried a VPN as well mate, tried a few. Spoke to pals and a lot of them still have the issues but just accept it as opposed to paying for Sky.

Obviously personal choice but it drives me nuts. I watch so much sport I need it to work.

If anyone knows a banging, grafting one then by all means DM me.

Your broadband provider could be the issue, I know a few who have issues with Sky broadband. Sky don't seem to like iptv for some reason :emoticon-0127-lipss.

I very rarely have any probems with mine, very rarely buffers, and don't need a vpn.

Yeah we are the same mate the full package is a fair bit but we watch it all the time with having kids and multi room. The user interface is much better than anything else out there imo. The picture quality of the football is incredible too on Sky/BT UHD and I normally watch it all day Sunday (if I’m allowed!) so worth it in my opinion. More away games be on sky this year too so that’s a bonus. Unlike the £240 a month I pay for frigging council tax :emoticon-0112-wonde

I don’t use Sky for broadband mate I have a company called Hyperoptic, it’s insane broadband you get your own individual connection.

They are none intrusive and you have control over the IP address etc. I know a bit about this industry I worked in it for 10 years.

I’d love a solution for this but have tried everything folk suggest several times.

Aye the first time I tried it I had the same issues and went to Sky, but the prices just got ridiculous.

It is a ball ache when you have issues with it but a VPN sorted it all for me. Maybe someone a bit more tech savvy than me can help you out mate.

I’ve got BT full fibre 1GB and it’s about 2 metres from my TV :emoticon-0132-envy: could be that the firestick is old or something no idea but it’s always been shocking for buffering and stuff tried all the common troubleshooting things and gave up in the end

Aye this is it mate, it’s justified if you use it. It gets hammered in ours we have multi room missus records everything, I love my sport.

Nail on head what you say it’s the picture quality on the UHD that brings sport to life. For the footy and the F1 it’s staggering the detail.

As I’m older and spend more time in the house the cost of it feels fully justified to me.

I sometimes turn my vpn on and most of the time I forget. Have no issues. I am only on 250mbs and mine is fine. Have no issues at all. Quality is spot on. Obviously not as good as FHD on sky package but still perfectly fine.

Been with the same provider for 7 years I think now.

Sticks lack the power a lot of the time. I recommended to jump to the fire cube and people who have done so are happier with the consistency in streams. Our cube is the single media driver for entertainment in the house and it's still going strong.

They were canny cheap again, 2 weeks ago on prime day.

I’m gonna look at these cube things, if anyone wants to share an Amazon link for one they know does the job, please do.
