That TigerTully bloke has always seemed like a bit of an attention seeker to me. His stuff today about the Mehlem signing being down to Walter is such low-hanging fruit. Anyone could come up with that and claim to be in the know. And yet, Tan and co would obviously have to be involved in the logistics of the deal so his point that the deal only got done because it was a Walter signing doesn't even make sense anyway.
So...... just to clarify this latest non transfer rumour. Someones mate who got sacked by the club, spoke to one of their mates, still at the club and came up with we're being sold? As mentioned before he's spent quite a lot of time in sorting sponsorships and pitches etc. As a businessman, he'd surely make the assett as attractive as possible for the sale and still buy a competative team, OK it's not going to happen by the weekend but there's still 4 weeks to make this happen. He might have put feelers out to see if there are any interested parties in buying the club, which there aren't and no-one is going to buy the club with 4 weeks left of the window and a threadbare squad, as the'd be buying a relegation ready team, which they'd be able to buy next year for half the price once relegated. See where we are after the transfer window closes.
Until I see something in print by your friend and mine, Barry Cooper, I will not be convinced by these rumours.
Can you imagine if he sold to Ehab.... It would go full on bed wet in 5 seconds flat. (And rightly so).
Never know he might have learned about how to treat supporters from this last 2 years, he could take the Botanica lot away to Melton for 5 days for free every year.
Hopefully acun or tan will agree to the interview with humberside and clear it all up. Transparent is the term they use often
Wow this snowballed quickly. It went from frustration over lack of transfers to Acuns selling the club. I think it's far more likely that Acun is just taking a different approach this year. He's focusing his attention on his new club and letting others take care of City. Lots of owners do the same. Saying that there is definitely something strange happening this window. I personally think that Tan is struggling to get deals over the line. Maybe without Acun working his magic and personally dealing with transfer targets, we're struggling to convince players to join. If I'm honest we don't look a great prospect right now for top 6 compared to lots of other clubs. Hopefully this week we can see 2 or 3 players through the door in time for the first game of the season and the rest will follow in the next few weeks. Still plenty of time left before the window shuts. We're a fickle bunch and if suddenly we sign Hughes, the Ecuadorian kid and a few quality strikers and wingers, we'll all be looking forward to an interesting season with hopefully an exciting brand of football.
If he does want to sell (just a rumour) then it would be in his interest to make us at least semi competitive and not relegation fodder.
**** me its difficult to keep up with this thread - which is ironic considering the distinctly slow transfer business! Where has this rumour about Acun wanting to sell come from?
This week is very different. It’s the week before the first league game of the season where matches matter. We have looked poor pre-season and the manager is crying out for signings. There were excuses before, but not now. If things don’t happen, it will be telling. Acun needs to come out and make a statement because not only has this all escalated quickly, it is continuing to do so and the unrest will no doubt transfer into the stands - not what we need in for the first game. Acun has a chance to put this right. Like someone said, the silence is deafening.
I understand all that but that doesn’t mean it will happen, we’ve been chasing the same players for weeks. What do we do this week different that we couldn’t have already done? If there is something different, why haven’t we already done it, especially when acun brought in a new manager to play a different way
