Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes Chelsea will fear visiting St James' Park this weekend.

Chelsea make the trip to Tyneside on Saturday lunchtime, with Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas under mounting pressure following their Carling Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool.

Pardew is confident Newcastle can add to Chelsea's problems as they go into the game boosted by their draw at Manchester United last weekend.
    Live on Sky Sports

"We've set ourselves up for Chelsea," Pardew told the Evening Chronicle.
    Fearing

"We have one of the big clubs coming to us and they will be fearing coming to us in front of 52,000 Geordies.

"They will make a difference. They loved it at Old Trafford and they enjoyed themselves - so now they will be looking ahead to this game.

"Getting that point was magnificent and has strengthened our belief.

"We went there looking to win and it was only when we went down to 10 men that we felt under pressure."

Pardew is great, you can't help but love his heart warmingly obvious methods of winning the fans over with words when he doesn't even need to. I think he has used the word 'Geordie' more times in the last 5 or so interviews than I have in my entire life.

Really looking forward to this game. Is the Dark Destroyer back in midfield?

he should hopefully be fit. having jonas out will be a miss as sturridge is playing off the right wing at the minute and we could've done with jonas' cover. we'll probs throw Sammy or Lovenkrands on the left and the rest of the side pics itself really. obertan looked good against his old club the other day. hope he applies the same mentality on saturday but i think chelsea look a nervous team at the minute and we'll be almost full strength and full of confidence at home. I'm sticking my neck out and saying we'll nick it. but they really have a point to prove after recent performances so it won't be easy. i hope David Luiz plays, he'll defo bring Ben Arfa down or something. that boy should play in midfield or right back.

Yeah.. David Luiz surely has to be the ''BEST'' ATTACKING centre-back in the world... haha! Yeah definitely he has the makings of a box-to-box midfielder/full-back sort of style with his consistent forward runs.

I say give Tiote the time to get fully 100% fit, Cabaye and particularly Guthrie have been doing a great job in midfield together and neither deserves to get the axe.

Yeah exactly! Can't fault Guthrie at all and our squad is thin enough without aggravating any injuries!

I just love constant references to 52,000 Geordies. What, no away fans?

Please start Santon, Raylor without Jonas cover is going to make me have a heart-attack.

Yeah we'll have to get him fit for January . . . . when he buggers off to the ACoN <ok>

Isn't Santon playing CM then? <whistle>

Yeah we'll rush him back, have him aggravate his injury then not be able to play in any of our games leading up to the ACoN either <ok>

Got to say, rather Raylor up at left mid than Sammy.

Maybe bring Sammy on to give us an attacking edge for the last 20-10mins.
