I I Went down and talked to his dad. For a man to make his son today and do that is an absolute clown. I asked what he wanted to gain from that and if he thought it was funny. He didn't think he would be pulled up On it. A couple of other people had a word as well. No threat of violence, just to show him up
You're quite right mate, exactly what I'd have done. I'd have asked an endless series of perfectly reasonable questions until I provoked him into completely losing it. This may come as a shock to you, and other people on here, but I can be a really annoying bastard when I choose to be I'd have made such a fuss that the stewards, then the police, would've become involved ... ... these people need to be shamed for the sake of their poor children, otherwise how will they ever learn to be normal.
Well done lads . Looking forward to Cardiff away now. Hopefully the players are feeling as positive as I am.. I'm sure we will get a centre forward in.

Was wearing my new home shirt today on the bus when some "Skunk" made a snide comment. Asked him how many years since his team had won the league. He didn't answer so I told him.... 98. Then asked him how long since they won the FA Cup. Didn't answer so I told him.... 69. Added a few six in a row's for good measure and he stayed silent. They don't like facts do they
Putting your 5/6 year old bairn in a situation like that is shameless. I as a father would never even contemplate doing such a thing. I never drew attention to them but I made him fully aware of the people behind him. Hopefully lesson learned, but I seriously don't think so.
Sure something similar happened in the city centre a few years ago. Bloke from somewhere in the sticks of Durham (Shildon) took his son to the Cinema in Sunderland on matchday in a toon top and someone give the bloke a clip. Remember seeing it in the news. Could’ve went to Durham, Boro, Gateshead or Hartlepool cinemas but chose ours. ****ing tit.
To me in these 'friendly' games this is what I was looking for. After a long period of the appointment would the players embrace this guy? Seems as though they are certainly on board with that. Would they embrace his style of play? Again, yes to me is the answer and what pleases me the most I believe we play our best football this way....high press. This style of play to me shows the confidence of whoever your playing....your going to take the game to them. Straight away your going to put the other team on the backfoot as your going to impose your style on them. Another thing that I was looking for was after all the talk of a foreign coach was he going to impress me? Again in my opinion I think we have a good lad at the helm here and with this creates a lot of optimism...so a nice feel good factor for the challenges ahead. The friendly games have gone well to me...given RLB in a short time he has been with us a few things to see, think about and try. Individual mistakes or results in these games I don't care about....it was more of the overall outlook. I think if we can get him a 'big lad' up front whether it's Mendy or not I'm very comfortable RLB will have us knocking on the door of the top six in April...HTL!!!
That's fair enough mate but I've seen this same shyte for three or four seasons now and don't really want another. If there was any kind of logic or reason I'd be happy to tolerate it, whether I agreed or not. But this is worse than having a Mag on here continually sniping at the team ... ... f*ck it, enough's enough.
Sunderland earn hard fought draw! Top class opposition in Marseille weren’t able to beat Sunderland, with the Lads coming from behind twice thanks to goals from Cirkin and Aouchiche. Here’s how Andy rated the Lads! Anthony Patterson: 7/10 Not always comfortable on the ball but made two fantastic quick fire saves in the second half. Caught coming out for the first goal but was a good finish, no chance with the second goal. Trai Hume: 6/10 Got caught on the ball in the lead up to the second goal and was busy all afternoon with most of Marseille’s threat coming from that side. Played a lovely ball over the top for Rusyn for the final goal. Luke O’Nien (C): 8/10 Played some great balls out wide and was usually the most comfortable of our players playing out of the opposition press. Mopped up a couple of times when a runner got past Hume but maybe could have done more to show the runner down the line for the second. Aji Alese: 6/10 Had a busy afternoon and was outmuscled a few times by the Marseille striker in the first half, stuck at it though and great into the game. Dennis Cirkin: 7/10 Looked quite comfortable defensively and more willing to get rid of the ball quickly rather than losing it in a dangerous position. Popped up with the first equaliser with a well taken header. Dan Neil: 6/10 A very mixed game for Neil, there were times when he looked very comfortable on the ball but others where he gave the ball away far too cheaply while being pressed. Pressed well throughout though, just needs to pick his moments better. Alan Browne: 7/10 Did well, was comfortable on the ball and worked hard to win it back. Got into the box often to support the attack and had a close range shot blocked in the second half. Patrick Roberts: 7/10 Was a bit livelier throughout than Clarke on the opposite flank, causing some problems when he cut inside. Had one curling effort well saved in the second half and shot just over from a free kick in the first half. Jobe Bellingham: 6/10 Like Neil there were a couple of instances where he needed to be sharper while under the Marseille press but was good otherwise, creating a chance for Browne and playing in Clarke for his shot against the post. Jack Clarke: 6/10 Was a little bit passive, especially in the first half but had a few dangerous bursts, notably when he cut inside and curled a shot off the post with the score at 1-2. Eliezer Mayenda: 6/10 Worked hard to close down the slow Marseille build up but no opportunities of note. Substitutes Chris Rigg: 6/10 Replaced Browne and did well enough that we didn’t miss the experienced midfielder’s presence. Romaine Mundle: 6/10 Not as eye-catching as he was against Bradford. Abdoullah Ba: 6/10 Very quiet following his introduction with the game ticking down. Adil Aouchiche: 7/10 Scored a penalty with his first touch and then almost created the winner with a fantastic cross to Hjelde. Nazariy Rusyn: 6/10 Won a penalty immediately after his introduction and hassled the Marseille defence constantly. Leo Hjelde: 6/10 Almost won the game with a well struck header that the goalkeeper was equal to. Man of the Match: Luke O’Nien Our best defender on the day, with a number of important interceptions and tackles but was also by far our most comfortable defender when Marseille were pressing high up the pitch. Also played some neat balls out of defence, with one cross field ball to Clarke on the left wing a particular highlight. please log in to view this image
I know mate and that's fair enough ... ... but it's just tiresome seeing these same snide comments every match thread. I respect people, on here, and expect a little back ... not much to ask imo.
Caught up on the game. Thought we were pretty good to be honest. Definitely lacking a decent forward of course, otherwise not too bad. Pressing was very well coached. Dare I say the press was the best coached press I have seen from us. Really good sign. Add a hard running number 9 it will be as good as anything in the league. Delighted to see Roberts play well. I know he was below par last season, but on todays showing we might just have the elite Paddy Roberts back. Could be great news if so. Mayenda looks good, although raw in his runs. Player though I think. Magic having Cirkin back, if he is fit all season we will be right up there in my opinion. Saw folks a bit down on Neil for the first goal. And Hume for the second. I want players brave enough and Neil in particular is so much more worthwhile in the role he plays. Thought Alese showed weaknesses, but character. Wouldnt be keen on him at CB for extended periods. ONien managed the back 4 well. Overall very encouraging. Roberts my idea of MOM, threat all day long. And he grafted. Mowbray had him playing well, hopefully Regis is another who can do it. Speaking as a coach, if you have a player as talented as Roberts you will give souch of your own time to help them show their best.
