His ability in those tight spaces is often the thing that sets us away tbf. Risk/reward I guess. He’s definitely better than he was a couple of years ago.
Really enjoying how high we are pressing. We won't play against a team this good in the league this season and we are still pressing the life out of them. This kind of play will suffocate teams without the technical ability of this Marseille side.
We seem to be more balanced under Le Bris and attacking down both flanks instead of just giving it to Clarke, asking him to beat 3 men and score
Agree totally. Really enjoying this and we’re doing pretty well in truth. An excellent test of our defensive shape, our pressing and our attacking patterns. Just what we need at this point of preseason.
Not bad against a good team love the press and work rate Still a bit toothless though desperate for a centre forward who can win and hold the ball But I like what we are trying to do
Watching this we have to remember the quality of the opposition and I think we’re doing a fair job of holding our own. The press is very very high, the two CBs are winning the ball in Marseille’s half sometimes. The passing play on show from us and triangles and off the ball movement looks like it’s come on leaps and bounds. Give us a championship opposition playing like this and we’ll do extremely well imo
This is something I have noticed. Desperate for a proper striker to help the team out and make the most of the patterns
Disagree totally. Any player can lose it there, and the archetypal defensive midfielder that most fans have in mind would not possess the ability on the ball to even receive it in there. Evans was prone to this sort of thing too - and we didn’t get the attacking benefit from that area of the pitch on the flip side.
