Interested to see if Alese is fit and if Poveda gets some minutes.

My guess is;

Patterson
Hume O'Nien Alese Cirkin
Browne Neil Jobe
Roberts Mayenda Clarke

Alese playing 45 again to protect him and Poveda getting 30-45 minutes.

 

There's a case for starting Mundle instead of Roberts

 

Don't think he will just because of getting minutes into Roberts/Poveda. Definitely possible he starts against Cardiff though

 

I haven’t been able to watch much of pre season. Isn’t the problem with Mundle that he only looks effective off the left wing? Not the right? And he has a certain Jack Clarke ahead of him likely to play every minute?

 

Pretty much. Think he can play on the right but is nowhere near as effective, just like Clarke wouldn't be as good on the right either.

 

Didn’t Clarke play on the right when he played for Leeds ?

 

Pretty much, but i think hes looking that good that we might have to try him on the right as Roberts not showing too much at the minute

 

14 times according to Transfermarkt. 44 games on the right in total with 3 goals 6 assists, his numbers from the left dwarf them

 

Did RLB switch his wingers sides much at Lorient?

Thought I'd read somewhere, they'd switch wings. Could definitely be an option.

Think Mundle will have a big season, either replacing Clarke, if he leaves. Or forcing his way into the team at somepoint

 

Could try flexibility rather than fixed positions, I would love to see a front three of Clarke Mundle and Watson , left field maybe, but it could be interesting.

 

All play the same position, the best attacking teams have balance and thats what we need to find this yr

 

We have an unbalanced squad and some players obviously not cutting the mustard, these suggestions may have been tried in training sessions who knows, but how long is it since we had a balanced forward line ?.

First time I saw him he was on the right and I was very impressed but obviously he is much more of a goal threat from the left which we have had to rely on, too much in my opinion. But he could be a more effective provider from the right, if we ever find an effective striker.

 

The season before last so not that long a go, we arent far away from it now but it'll depend on the form of roberts n poveda staying fit at RM plus a new CF

 

Think Mundle will be more effective on the left, cutting in like Clarke does
