I may be eating humble pie come the end of the season. Callum Chambers and El Ghazi signing for City is quality business. Hats off to Bulut - I will still hold my judgement in case I've spoken too soon
Rumours of 2 more. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport.../cardiff-city-linked-double-european-29664827
Colwill junior apparently heading off to Cheltenham on a season loan. Good experience for the lad and best of luck to him.
There are a few who have tasted 1st team football who now need games under their belt. It's a fine line. We need to start seeing players from the academy making the 1st team. Big seasons for Colwill and Davies coming up. Ashford another.
Read earlier that we were looking to sign him as a permie rather than loan him. Bulut only wants 2 or 3 loans for the season. Good that we're building some continuity. A mixture of ages as well. Hopefully the start of a long term strategy to compliment youngsters coming through. Erol starting to make his mark?
Never liked the business of borrowing players other than in emergencies. As you suggest, it doesn't help with continuity.
Loan or permie, good news either way. Will provide energy and skill either way. Prefer permie but wages may be difficult.
Preferably a purchase but a loan deal would do. He looks the sort of player we need to energise our midfield and hopefully create and score goals which is massively missing from the likes of Turnbull Ralls Colwill etc
Good new fingers crossed https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-starlet-alex-robertson-29679001
As suggested given Bulut mentioning the signing of another central defender https://x.com/GlenWilliams12/status/1820453759769583851
Given the free signing of Chambers, that would be good business. The sort of player you'd like to keep, but it would still have been a good window.
For once City can play hard ball. They don’t need to sell, Luton have plenty of PL cash and there’s 26 days left of the window to get a deal to their liking including a sell on proviso.
Anything approaching £10m is good business but it leaves needing to sign another cb at least. I would prefer him stay but perhaps the potential fee is the catalyst for us shelling out for Robertson.
