Yeah, no need for a pan. Just 30 seconds with the lass's hair-dryer is enough. Careful mind. Too long and it is ruined.

Brazilian flank steak, on the bbq, just popcorn salt on the fat side to push the flavour, absolutely no sauce, medium heat both sides for 5-7 minutes. Remove any salt left and carve, then finish to order, so from rare through well cooked individually and the only flavour is the meat itself. An English/Brazillian friend showed me and my god, so easy to do (I’m no Gordon Ramsay) and better than anything in a restaurant.

Steak Update: i bought a piece of rump steak....Butcher didn't have any sirloin. I put it in the slow cooker at 8 this morning on the lowest setting....Added some pepper sauce at 4pm and mushrooms.,then did the chips in my air fryer and ate it at 5pm....Bloody lovely....I'll be doing that again.

Sounds good but if you like that slow cooker approach I'd recommend using beef shin, it's a cheaper cut but perfect for slow cooking. It has more fat than rump or sirloin and it's that that makes it cook so well on slow. Buy whole shin pieces then cut them up in big lumps. Give it a try.

Not tried black garlic - was gonna get some the other day - how different is the taste from the typical garlic we get?

It can vary but tends to be milder with a different taste. I thought it was quite pleasant, my wife who isn’t one for spices or strong flavours liked it.

Different taste & texture. Closer to wild garlic, more subtle flavour

The weather today is for a winter stew and not an outside barbecue.
